Welcome Geraley T - my son is in 269, but they're all together for PIR 8/31 - glad he's doing much better now

Hi everyone!  My son is ship 09 Div 273, I have gotten 3 letters now!  And he was able to call home last Thurs for 20 min, while they gave them time to shop and make calls! I was so happy to hear his voice!  He said they removed his wisdom teeth last Monday and he had two days of bed rest.  Says the worst part is how tired they all are, but assured me the food is good and he is eating well.  (He is my picky eater and I was worried he might lose too much weight)  He sounds like he is getting adjusted and it is getting a little easier.  I cant wait until 4 weeks from friday when we are in Great Lakes for graduation!!  That will be a proud moment!!!!! <3   He says they want to be honor division and carry the biggest flag ; >

My son has never been a picky eater but is happy with the food as well.  He said he is so incredibally hungry all of the time.  He said he can't get enough in him fast enough.  He said the only thing limiting how much he can eat is what can fit on his tray -apparently not enough.  He was supposed to get his teeth out late last week.  I hope he is doing okay.  I have not had a call from him but then again he is in 274 and we are not having much luck with calls from them.  So happy som e of you are getting calls and can update the rest of us.  I think his div is struggling to much to get calls.  Come on 8/31 :)

seems like most people who have gotten calls are from 273 not so much 274!! lol as hubby said in his letter there are lots of "young dumb kids" and so they have been working out ALOT!! Im assuming thats why 274 hasnt gotten calls yet except for information and what not!!

hubby also said food is GREAT if they are the first to get there otherwise a lot of the "good stuff" is gone! lol boys!!

Hey guys!! I got two letters today (274) and a picture drawn for our daughter who is three... He said he got his wisdom teeth out and he didnt have any pain but his face was swollen a lot. They were supposed to get an hr long phone call but somebody majorly messed up so their phone calls dropped to 5 min and their group score dropped... he decided to not call because he could barely talk and said that was the same for other people in his DIV so that explains our lack of phone calls!! He said that they got their first division flag for academics but its been challenging because there is a group of people that consistantly mess up and make it harder for everyone else. He said he loves all the letters and tell everyone to keep writing as much as possible. he also said that people keep coming up to him and telling him that Im talking to their moms lol but he didnt mention anyones names :(... Hope y'all get letters too!!

Hi everyone!  received a letter from my son today! Said he has been bored because there have been alot of people sick on ship 09, and that there is an outbreak of chicken pox...Said upcoming week should be toughest and then it will get easier until Battle Stations...It was dated 7/29 and he said they were taking pictures for their ID's soon...

GraceRae, what is your husbands name? My son Josh is in 273 : >

I cant post it on here due to opsec but you can message me and i can tell you..

Wow Chicken pox? We hear of a lot of stuff going around, but that one is new to me.

I would assume its probably an outbreak from getting immunizations. They give them everything doesnt matter if they have their immunization records and already recieved it. And I know with that you can break out a little bit so probably happened that way. Hubby didnt mention chicken pox he just said everyone who had teeth out were still recovering or were still SIQ with swollen faces :(

Hi all!  Just wanted to say hello.  My son is SHIP 09 DIV 274.  Got a couple letters but don't expect more he hates to write, lol!  Got 1 short call on 7/26, sd DIV got in trouble so what should have been an hr was cut to 15 mins.  My sons an extreme athlete so all the working out does not seem to bother him but sd some guys are really struggling w/ all the extra workouts :(  Looking forward to going to PIR we decided to drive, since the thought of making airline changes made me cringe, you never know what can happen.  We already found out that our sons contract was canceled and he needed to pick another job, to no fault of his......

Hey Luckied! Im glad you got a phone call!! Hubby wrote in his letter that they were supposed to have an hour and then it got dropped down but he couldnt call because his face was so swollen he couldnt even talk so he wrote another letter instead! Hubby also said some guys are having a hard time with working out but hes loving it lol. I wonder if ur son and hubby have bonded over being athletic lol.
