I am trying to find out more information regarding A school graduation. My son finishes A school on August 28 for EC/FC. Is the graduation something that family attends or is it just a certificate and a handshake? And after school does he get leave to come home? I keep hearing so many different things and I would love more than anything to see him graduate but money is tight here at home and I really need to find answers.Thank you all so much for any help you maybe able to provide!!

My Son is also in A school at Greatlakes and he finishes on the 24th of August. They do have a small graduation and receive their certicates.FYI - they post pictures everyday of the A school grads on facebook. My Sailor is  grad and go and will be home for a few weeks until his deployment. Your Sailor should have at least 2 weeks off. Talk to him he should know by now. Hope this helps counting down the weeks until i see my Sailor again can' t wait it's been along 4 months since graduation and the only thing that helps is i can talk to him.

Well my son has not mentioned two weeks off. That would be nice. I will ask him some more questions I guess. He seems kind of confused on things and it sure doesn't help mom out any wondering what is going on!! Thank you for your help.

Everybodies is different, your son should know.  My kids did not get time off in between.

Guess I will try to get in touch with him and ask more questions!! Thank you!

Every school is different...if he is either an FC or ET...he needs to go to another school called "C" School...BEFORE he gets leave.

He could also be on hold in Great Lakes for a few weeks before he goes to his next school.

Only your son will know...you need to ask him what is going on.

My daughter is getting ready to start ATT school for ET/FC soon. She PIR'ed Aug 10th. She said she would probably be @ GL til maybe April or May next year. She will be going for FC. What are the choices for C school? Who decides where they go for C school .
