We got the "letter" today!!!!

We are both so excited to finally know his address and what division he is in!!! We had both encouraged him to tell the truth when asked about previous marching experience and apparently he did since he is in Div 943! We are both thrilled to see him on 9/7!!!

No letter from my son yet. Ship 02 DIV 943

Tomorrow will be the day we all get letters!!!! At least I hope it is!! :-)

i cant wait to hear from my son Cody! Miss that boy!!!! Ship 02 Div 943...yesterday was their day to write letters??
Hoping to hear from my son, Michael this week or next week. Recruiter told us Ship 02 Div 943 are extremely busy right now. I can handle the wait better knowing he's doing what he loves!
UPDATE: got an actual phone call this morning from my son Cody! It wasnt a casual "hey mom" call. They discovered he has a medical issue (not serious) and put him on light duty for 3 days, still in Div 943! yay! Cody said he has made tons of friends. The PT is very hard but he is still fired up about the Navy. Oh he said all the guys were able to write letters yesterday (Sunday) so we all should get one this week, yay! I was so glad to hear his voice and noticed how more mature-sounding he is after only 3 weeks! I cant wait for September!!

Debbie - Sorry to hear Cody has a medical issue but really glad it isn't serious and he can stay in the division.

Also love that he told you all got to write letters yesterday! That is awesome to hear!! Thanks for the update!!!!

Hope your son gets better soon. I'm glad he's making friends too. I sure hope they all wrote letters yesterday. There are a bunch of parents out here who could use them.
Cody also told me all the guys in Div 943 are really cool and they all are getting along great! Letters soon!
I forgot to say he also said to send stamps and envelopes...just a thought for all the moms and GF's. And dont send anything else cuz the whole division gets extra PT if someone gets an odd package or large puffy envelope stuffed wih goodies. Cody also said the food is really good and they can have as much as they want.

We just got a message from Tyler!!!!!

It came through a friend of a friend.....our friend (Susan) has a friend that has been in the Navy for 15 years, she was recently station at Great Lakes. Susan told her about Ty and she said that she would definitely see him and would talk to him. Today the friend sent Susan a message and told her "I saw your friend at bootcamp! He told me to tell everyone hi. He is doing well! In very good spirits so please pass the word along to his family!"

We got the phone call from Susan just a little bit ago. It was really cool!!! We are so glad he is in very good spirits!!! he can get down on himself when he is having a tough time with something so he must be doing ok.

I hope Cody gets well soon. Glad all the recruits are getting along well. My son plays baritone and bass trombone so looking forward to PIR and seeing the drills. My son's name is Eric. I hope we all get letters this week. I just mailed out a letter today so will send another with envelopes and stamps. They only have a few weeks left, though. Yay!

Hope all SHIP 02 DIV 943 recruits are well!
