Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My husband is an electrician and told the owner of his company that he will be going to MEPS Wednesday. His boss was so supporting and even told him he was honored that he would make that decision. Then today we were told there was a conversation about letting him go because he was leaving anyways. Can they do this??

The same thing almost happened to my husband. If it had not been for his direct supervisor sticking up for him it probably would have happened. With that said, we talked to his recruiter who said "he can't do that and he doesn't want a JAG knocking on his door." I would suggest talking to your husbands recruiter ASAP so that he or she is aware and can make a phone call if necessary. I'm no lawyer, but to me that screams discrimination. Not to mention places of employment have to hold a job for deployed personnel by law, so there probably isn't much difference in firing someone for joining.

Thank y'all! He called his recruiter and their talking about it. His partner stood up for him also. I guess he and I are hurt more than anything because we move to Nebraska from georgia for this job and for them to even consider doing that after the owner praised him for doing this is just shocking. Thanks for the info again!
My moms best friend has a son who was let go for missing too much work. He's in the Reserves and the "missing work"was for his duty required for the Reserves. He told his superior about it and he was furious. Long story short, he got his job offered back to him but he was so disgusted by his boss he turned it down. Service members can't be penalized by their employer for being service members. Glad to see your husband had talked to his recruiter. Hopefully all works out well for you!
