Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Black Bag w/goodies after PIR?
I am hoping to get some other mom's OR veteran bootcamp moms, input on the type of carry on all-black bag for our future sailors for when they leave for their A-school. Anyone care to share? I know there are a lot of more inquiring mom's out there

They are issued a black backpack in bootcamp which they will use for their carry on. So you definitely don't need to provide this.

The sailors do not need anything else to carry to "A" school with them, they are loaded down with a huge duffle bag, their black backpack and another carryon bag, their hands are full. Once they arrive in Pensacola, they can text the next day or call with their address and you can send anything that they couldn't carry on from the airport.
When they arrive in Pensacola, they are in Phase 1 - go to the Pensacola site and read the information about the different stages.
You will feel completely different once they are in Penscola! You can communicate! :)

From a Wife, My husband had his PIR about a years ago, and was not issued a black bag, however I am sure things change like they always do. When I went to PIR I can tell you that he requested a few things... Boxer, or different undies from what they are issued, and some basic clothing for him to wear during down time. I knew I was sending him things right after he got there, so I packed him a couple pairs of socks, sneakers, couple T-Shirts, couple pairs of shorts, and some shower stuff. The FIRST thing he asked to do when we got to the hotel after PIR was shower, and change underwear. He said all he wanted to do was shower with out having 100 other guys around. (was kind of funny) Also, depending on what school he goes to and what base, he may not be able to wear much for civilian clothing for a couple weeks. (some schools make you earn it) but the NEX will also have a place for him to buy some clothes.... so maybe some money as well. I also brought my hubby's laptop, because he was now allowed to have it, and it was a life saver being able to Skype with him.... I was just misunderstanding what I have been reading..if we get them a bag (for computer or other items) that it needs to be ALL black. so I will not be buying a black bag. I guess if he has room for whatever he wants to bring, then he will know once he goes through the stuff I bring along. thank you
