Hi, everyone who has a SR on Ship 4, div 818. My son left on July 3. We live in Ohio. Hope to hear from all of you soon.

Great to hear you received letters too. Hopefully your SR bf will be able to get medicine to get over it.
Hi fellow Ship 04 Div 818 moms!! My son left on July 3 as well. We got the form letter before "the box" too. I was so overwhelm with seeing his handwriting on the letter and then again on the box. He has sent several letters since then, and had one phone call, which his girlfriend got. He explained that in a letter that he misses her soo much! lol I don't think he realizes how much we all miss him, too! My husband and I will be staying at the Red Carpet Inn. I RSVP for the meet and greet at Flanigan's for Thursday night. Hope to meet some of you there. We'll be coming from PA.
Welcome Adamsproudmama! My SR actually broke up with his GF several months before leaving (although they went to Prom together as friends) and I think he made a good decision to not have deal with missing her too. Plus I'm glad I don't have to share!!! Sounds as though we are all getting letters and calls pretty much all the same and in the same order. We will be at the Ramada Inn, although I'm having second thoughts because I've read some really poor reviews on here, but it's just a place to stay. Were you able to RSVP to Sarge's Meet and Greet for our PIR date already? We plan on going to that for sure. We are coming from Florida.
Would love to do meet and greet - but we will be lucky to get in by 11pm -- not heading up til after work and Chicago traffic is terrible 24 hours a day
I got a letter today! I hope everyone else gets theirs today or tomorrow.
Good morning! My sailor's PIR was 7/27/2012 from Ship04 Div817 - he is now in Pensacola and he is a rescue swimmer candidate. If you have any questions, I will try to help any way I can.
Good afternoon, Aster. I've been reading your posts on the some of the other sites. You have given some really detailed information (you must love to type! lol) and it is greatly appreciated. I had some questions that I was going to ask you but I've forgetten what they were. Figures. How does your son like Pensacola? Has he classed up yet? I've read that there can sometimes be long hold times while waiting to class up. Hope that he's enjoying his time down there and I can't wait until my SR is headed that way.
Jodi-Josh'sMom_ I'm a teacher on summer break - go back 8/8 - I am on this site avoiding housework! LOL!
My son loves the freedom on Pensacola, he has 2 "roomies" - they have duties but not as often as BC - there are several steps before "A" school - he is in an indoctrination week this week, once they pass 4 inspections, and PFA he will move to Phase 2, maybe next week. :) I will answer the best I can, apparently there are a few stages before "A" school, hope this helps.
WELCOME aster! Thank you for helping out...it is much appreciated!
How did you know how to meet up with your SR when they were headed to Midway to go to Pensacola? To give him their cell phone and ipod.....seems confusing to me to know how that was possible. I'm way overthinking all this, but given that my son was never big on "details" I want to be able to figure this out on my own! HAHA, right?
