I keep seeing running lists of dates that kids are leaving and I really wanted to connect with other people whose kids are leaving at the same time my son is.  So, if you have a child leaving either August 1st or 2nd, post here and let's keep each other up todate on progress.

Thanks,

Carol

My son arrived at GL on August 1st. I received his box on Saturday, and his form letter yesterday. He is on Ship 13, Div 310, and his PIR date is September 28. Was glad to get his address, but he did not write any notes on the form letter. Oh well.

My son arrived 8/2. We got our form letter today also. Ship 13, Div 313. No note from my son at the bottom either. My older daughter said, "Mom! did you really think he would write a note?" LOL!! No I didn't, but I sure was hoping. :)

Your son is in the same Division and Ship as mine.. Yay!!! Go lucky NO 13! I just sent off my son's first letter. Where are you from so next time I write to him, I can tell him I have connected with you? We are from Phx, AZ.

Kyle is also Ship 13 Div 313 we are from Edenville, Michigan.  I also mailed out some letters today (4 of them lol I have them numbered on the outside so he knows what order to read them )

talk soon,

Jo

We are from Edmond, Oklahoma. Our first letters are going out tomorrow. I wrote two, and two of my daughters wrote one each. It was the first time his youngest sister (age 9) had addressed an envelope. I had her do it herself. It  took 3 trys for her to get all that information in the address to fit in the middle of the envelope! It's cute. He's going to think we have lost our minds! LOL!!

My 7year old has been writing letters, even before we got the address. We traced the dogs paws and all sorts of craziness onto letters already. I even got out my SR's old joke book and wrote stupid jokes in them. Anyway, he will think I am dorky, but I WILL get something in the mail every day until I can see my kid, even if it's from the dog. Hee Hee!
Love it!! :) Good! My son won't be the only one thinking his mom is "dorky".

I received the form letter today. Ship 13, Div 313. We are from Tampa, Florida. Looks like we have a group of young men that have supportive mothers. Will be sending his letter tomorrow, I will add that some of the mothers have connected and their location.

My son left from Tampa Fl on 8/1 i havent received his form letter yet hopefully i will get it tomorrow so i can start mailing him some letters. Dont want him to be the only one not getting anything lol.

Hello,

I am an active “veteran” (been through BC) mom on the PIR groups on this site. My Seabee PIR’d over a year ago and I decided to stay on the site and help out.

Since we have 7-8 PIR groups running at one time I do what I can to try and get to the DEP groups…we used to have a few more moms on here…

If I may suggest…please post any questions you have on the main wall of this group (but don’t quit posting to each other here!) and I will try to get over here to answer them! I will check it at least once to twice daily.

I will also post the current PIR groups on the main wall so you can find them and join to start getting to know the other moms. There are also other long time veteran moms there to answer questions and lend support as well.

For those that have a recruit shipping out later this month…I have re-posted some of JessicaB SailorMom’s great advice on the main wall.

Welcome to N4M’s!

This does look appear to be a group of supportive moms!!

Got my son's letter today. Ship 13 Div 311. Guess I need to start planning our trip!
