Hi DIV 268

Just go a very upbeat letter for my son.  The division is doing better.  THey go for the Capt.Cup this Saturday and he's looking forward to this event.  He may be doing the push ups for the group..

He said the divison passed everything they needed to... but didn't get to earn a flag unless they get the Capt's cup.  HE's still a stick but minus the flag.   They are just getting ready for  battlestation but didn't give me a date.

8/24 is almost here ladies..... yeah!!!

From Div 268

Got a really good letter from my son yesterday.  He is doing really well, but still disappointed in some of the guys in the div that he says yell and argue all the time.  I don't know what flag you are talking about but it makes me sad if they are not able to earn it.  Hopefully there is still time.

Sorry about those boys who are sick right now.  My son was very sick with high fever and congestion for over a week and his letters during that time were heartbreaking, but he got through it.  He told me in yesterdays letter that there were still a number of guys still getting sick.  I guess it just makes it rounds, but hang in there, moms;  They are strong and are getting so close.  They will be better in time for battlestations and will see you soon at PIR!!!

They have now finished their weapons training and I think that yesterday was the GAS CHAMBER!!!  He said he was excited and a little nervous but knew they would have some good stories to tell.  By now I think they have also finished their fire fighting training.

They have had their pictures taken and now have their dress blues and dress whites, but he said he got most excited over receiving their blue work coveralls, because he knew that was what they would wear for fire fighting and battlestation!

I'm more excited than I ever imagined I would be to see him again and be at PIR!!!  We will be staying at the Residence Inn and attending Sarge's Meet and Greet.  YAY!!!!!

Hi Tsam,

Sorry to hear that your son was sick.  My son was sick about two weeks ago with fever and sore throat. It's so tough on them to be sick on top of all the stress of being there.  Poor kids.  My heart goes out to them.

He didn't mention in this letter about the division still having issues, although he has in all the other letters.

Not sure about the flags, he mention something about battle and academics???  They didn't achieve them :(

But it seems that the division is looking forward to participating in the Captain's cup this Saturday..  My son was also excited about all the uniforms.. Although he did say they were expensive - nice to know he's thinking about expenses.  I can't wait for the pictures.. I mention in every letter that he had to buy any and all pictures.. Can't wait to see them.

We are staying at the Courtyard and will definitely be attending Sarge's Meet and Greet.  I can't wait to meet all the wonderful Moms!!

I got two letters this week :) The first letter he sounded a little discouraged.  He said that the division isn't working together as a team and that he's getting very frustrated.  He said people keep talking and getting everyone in trouble.  He was excited for this week and was looking forward to a busy week because they seem to go by fast.  The second letter was more upbeat.  He was extremely happy because he was 1 of 6 that was chosen to be promoted to E2 pay grade status.  I don't know what all this means, but it must be good because he was so happy.  It's under 2 weeks now before we arrive in Chicago...I'm so excited to see my son!

Hi Proudcomom

Congrats to your son on his promotion... :)

Hopefully their division get's it together before battle stations.. :)

10 days to go!!!  I can't wait...

I wonder if anyone knows when they will go to battle stations? I am in the process of gluing my cell phone to me hand so I don't miss my " I'm a Sailor call"!!!

I know... very excited here as well!!!

I haven't heard specifically when they will be going battle stations but I did read that they begin with the lower division numbers and work up throughout the week. If this is indeed the case then our SR's probably won't be going until at least Wednesday/Thursday since there are 6+ divisions ahead of them. I am anxiously awaiting my "I'm a Sailor call" too! :)

I'm so excited...I can't stand it!! I am going to scream when I get that call!!
Wednesday or Thursday of this week or next? Has anyone looked at the pages or the lower divisions to see if they have posted their bs dates? I think I'll peek in and see if I can find out ;)

Well, from what I have read online... it should be Wednesday or Thursday of this week (week 7). Based on the forums from other folks and http://usmilitary.about.com/od/navy/l/aanavybasic5.htm site, next week is primarily filled with paperwork (out-processing), practicing for Pass-In-Review, and some additional classroom training. If this is the case, we should be getting our Sailor calls by the end of this week! :)

oh wow

oh wow

oh wow

sorry repeating my self... I'm actually jumping up and down..

Keep jumpin', Mom!  I'm right there with you!!!
