For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

What a difference! :-)
So about a month ago I posted how I thought my boyfriend was changing during his deployment, and not for the better. I seriously thought at any moment, he was going to tell me he didn't want to do this anymore and go on about his business.
I got some really great advice from you awesome ladies, and I decided to take that advice. SO GLAD I DID. I e-mailed him everything I was thinking (and I do mean EVERYTHING haha!) It didn't change right away, but I could definitely see him putting forth a little more effort, and that was encouraging.
About a week ago, his ship FINALLY ported (after having been at sea for about a month and 1/2 or so) in, of all places, Seychelles (trust me, I've never been jealous of him...UNTIL NOW.) Since this time, I've seen a total 180 degree turn around. He is back to his obnoxiously ;-) playful and loving self.
I would like to send a personal 'thank you' to whoever decided Seychelles was a good stop for them, because I think that was a morale booster if I ever saw one. LOL He told me he had wine with a German couple and that he wished I was there with him. Obviously I told him not to worry...and to save money...because that's a nice honeymoon spot. HAHA!
Anyway, now we are down to less then half the deployment to go! I wanted this to be a 'hang in there!' to you other girlfriends/wives with men deployed. I really didn't think the deployment would have this kind of effect on them (what do I know?!), but patience is evidentally the key. If they start acting crazy and out of ordinary, leave them alone and let them figure things out. They will come back.
Anyway, if it hadn't been for you ladies, I would NOT have survived that spell in our relationship. I did, though, and things are back to the better! :-)

Congratulations on being most of the way done with deployment! My boyfriend left very recently. I'm worried, but I'm hoping things turn out well like they did for you :)

I am so glad that I have less then half the time I've already gone until he comes back. I miss him more then anything, seriously. There are going to be ups and downs, but you have to be patient and know they still love you. Their schedules are unpredictable and crazy and honestly, they sometimes simply do not have time for you some days. But when they get time, they do whatever they can to make sure you understand that you are still on their mind.

I am glad to hear its getting better!! :) That is awesome news! Know you are on the down hill slide! I started a huge to do list when it was halfway to get finished before he got back! My husband got back a week ago from deployment and its sooo worth it! :) You will be surprised how rushed you feel towards the end! Its like ahhhhhh sooo much to do not enough time! :)
