I haven't heard but I wonder if we ask diannep ( i think she is the one who is keeping track, I'll have to go back a few pages on the main discussion to see) if she will tell us if anyone has given her the information. If my calendar is correct, they are somewhere around 5-5 so based on that shouldn't BattleStations be next week?

It's somewhere in week 6 - probably the end - which would mean next Wed-Thurs.  I haven't been told anything though, so I'm not spilling any beans - just taking a guess.  :-)

MamaG, I sent a message to diannep and she did respond with battle station information.  It's not exact (unless that has changed since I got my response) but she will respond.  Just friend her and inbox her about it.  :)

You should keep your phone near you next Wednesday!! Today is 5-5 day and my boyfriend told me that he would get a call on 6-5.

I got a letter today!!  My SR cannot wait to see us.  No mention of battlestation, or Hall of Fame.  He just wants to get a STEAK!!!!  He wants some "real food".   But if you knew him, you would understand.....he's always eating.  I asked him what he wanted to do on liberty and the response was eat!!! lol  The countdown is on.......15 days and hours!!!!

I got a letter today also. Probably the longest one yet and it has a little more information on how he has been doing. He said they are doing very well, aiming for Hall of Fame so lets all hope they get it! He said he's getting used to surviving on 4 hours of sleep a night so I imagine he will want to sleep while on liberty as well as eat candy and fast food (he mentioned those in his last letter,) Still sounds very positive.

I got a letter today too!  And this one made me laugh at least 4 times.

He gave me names of rack mates - They were from all over --WI, NY, PA, MI and LA.  He was glad I sent clippings on about the Olympics.  And he told me about when the package of candy came from a friend of his.  If anyone else heard that story -- that is my kiddo.

He sounded good -- but did mention missing a small arms training because he was sick - but said nothing else about that.

Hello, new to the site...My son is also on Ship 04 DIV 818, I have received several letters, usually Thursday is my mail day, so I am anxious to see if there is a letter when I get home. My son mentioned to me also about the "Hall of Fame" said they are right on the cusp, this was right before the inspection. I have had my fingers crossed.  He said it has been tough but things are getting easier around there. We are in Panama City Florida so when he completes all his "training" in the great lakes, he is coming "home"  to  train for 26 weeks -the dive school on Panama City Beach, this will give mama a little more time before he starts traveling the world.  Can't wait (14 days!) untill we head to the Great Lakes and I see my son.  All arrangements have been made, just counting down the days...

Welcome, Blake04/818. It's been awhile since anyone new joined us. Is your son under contract as a diver? That's great that he will be going to school so close to home. We are all going to be jealous since you should be able to see your SR much more often than we will see ours. Where are you staying when you are at GL? We are staying at the Quality Inn. It didn't have a pool but I'm hoping my SR won't want to do any swimming anyway-He'll be doing enough of that in Pensacola lol. I also am counting the days.

Hi Jodi-Josh's Mom Ship4, DIV 818, Pensacola is close to us also, what will your son be doing?  I grew up in Pensacola and I know NAS was about Pilots and flying.  We are staying at the Navy Inn on base, My son has a good friend he went to school with who went into the coast guard and he is coming with us so he got the rooms.

My son is going in for rescue swimmer. There are at least 5 moms on here with rescue swimmers. NavyGF's boyfriend is going in as a diver and we have one mom with an E.O.D. I know I missed a few so sorry to you moms who I've missed. We are bringing my son's girlfriend and his best friend, who is going in on 9/11.

Hi Blake04/818, my son will also be heading to Panama City Beach after BC.  He is contracted as a diver too.  Were are you staying when you get to Great Lakes?  My family is staying at the Red Carpet Inn, just a mile down the road from base.  Have a safe trip :)
