That is great.. My son said he also is a flag carrier.. I bet they know each other..:)
I bet they do...how exciting! Is you son Div 300? If he is I bet they stand next to each other!
He is Div 299. I really don't know how big the divisions are.. I am not sure which flag he has to carry. According to his diagram..lol he is in the middle..
OMG Just got a phone call from my son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited. He sounded GREAT. Got his wisdom teeth pulled, which he was kind of worried about but it was nothing. I asked him if he gets yelled at alot and he laughed and said of course everyday. He said they get about 5 hours of sleep so he is feeling tired alot. He wants newspaper articles of clipping from magazines. He surf and hunts so he would like something to read along those lines. Oh and he passed some test 12 out of 68 recruitsa passed so they were promoted. I am so proud. Anyway he said alot od them were sending calls today so be on the lookout for a strange phone number and answer it. My husband gave me the heads up because I rarely answer calls from people I don't know. AWWWW what a relief he did not sound stressed or homesick and ladies I only cried at the end!!!!!
Oh yea one more thing his bunk mate is from minnesota, forgot to ask his name though.
that is great! My son is from minnesota.. was going to college in North Dakota.. That would be weird if it was him..lol I am glad you got a phone call. He was getting his teeth worked on as well.. It is good to here they are not stressed out.. We probably are more worried about them, then they are about themselves..:)
I got a phone call. YEAH!!! He is doing good. He is now an E-2. He misses us but likes bootcamp...He said his bunk mate is in his 30's from the Philippines and taught him how to make his rack so he wouldn't get in trouble for it anymore. I'm so excited I really don't know what to post...heart is racing...LOL
My son called this afternoon too! It was amazing! I have no words, Im just so happy!
Finally booked my room....was waiting to hear from my son to make sure everything was going good. I can still change the reservation if I need to. I'm glad I booked it tonight though cause I got the last BIG room.
i missed my son's phone call yesterday. I am still sick to my stomach about it. I dashed into a zumba class (was running a few minutes late) and didnt grab my phone. I didnt think he would call on a wednesday, even tho i did consider going to get my phone after i left it in the car. I am soo disappointed. But we did receive a few letters so that healed part of my heart! he sounds good which makes it easier. he said there are 77 in his division. Mentioned in his letter he might call next week - which would be this week thurs or friday. Well, i guess he got to call a day early :( i hope he can call back, his voice on my voicemail made me sad that i missed his call ... so ladies, don't leave your cell phones anywhere but on you!
Well I am glad that you got the letters and a voice mail.....my son (div 300) said that they were all doing really good and was gonna find out if they had earned a flag last night....he said he thought they did. He said no one in his division was sick or anything like that but a few had their wisdom teeth taken out...including him. He said their RDC was nice and didn't yell alot as long as you listen and do what you are told. He said everyone is getting along well with each other. Hope this is a little comfort...if you have any questions I can maybe answer just ask and I will try based on my phone call.
katherine - my son said something similar! He said he was a little sick the first few days but it wasnt terrible and he didnt have his wisdom teeth pulled (I was so worried about that!). My son said they are having a championship something or another and that he is one of the captains? Maybe he said Captains cup? I dont know, I was just focused on his voice and didnt get the details! He said their RDC told them if they win, and they have a strong chance, they will get use of the internet and an hour long phonecall! Do they have computers? Andrew (my son) also said its funny when a kid says his mom writes about knowing another mom in the unit from "some website" haha! I am totally guilty on that one!
Bsmom - hang in there. Andrew said they will get the chance to call again, you'll get that call. And as sad as you are to have missed his call, you have his voice on voicemail, you can listen to it as many times as you'd like. I sort of wish I could do that. I was so excited he called and so cautious to catch every word that I feel like I missed every word (does that make sense?)
wm - you are soo right! i have listened to his message several times, and if i wouldve talked to him i wouldnt have listened to what he was saying but focused on the mere fact of hearing his voice! ive been writing to my kid about the N4Ms website - so funny they are probably all getting to know each other then talking about us getting to know one another. i love it. This is probably the hardest thing ive had to do as a mother. 5 more weeks. good night moms.
