For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I guess they teach them to be neat and tidy also! wonder why my yelling didnt work! lol what company is your rental from for that 22/day! We drove for our daughters but have found direct flights with Southwest for cheaper than our gas bill the last time. We will be coming into Midway and leaving Saturday, since our Daughter was shipped out on Saturday I expect that our Son will also.

We are using Budget Rent a car out of Milwaukee airport. The $22 is for the economy cars we had to go with the midsize ($122 with all fees Thu-Sun). I have never been to Chicago so we are staying until Sunday. Also one of my cousins live in Chicago and we rarely get to see her.

Thanks Jainz...since it will only be the two of us an economy call should do! I have been to Chicago a couple of times for Nursing confrences and it is fun.. a little to far for Liberty on Friday, could take the train in, but our Daughter was a little nervous of going that far.

I received the first letter, too!! I gathered his brother and sister around and read it aloud. He sounds good. Walking on air now. Can't believe the letter made it to us so quickly especially since he put the wrong city!! LOL. He put the city of where he lived in college, and not where his parents live. He must be stressed or at least exhausted.

I am on pins and needles waiting for a personal letter from our son. I did this 25 years ago with his Dad in the Air Force. So I thought I was prepared. A bit harder being the Mom this time. My husband was never good at the letter writing stuff and I am very much hoping our son is better.

After hearing families started receiving letters, I didn't sleep at all last night!! I tossed & turned all night!! I was so happy for all you guys that got one & thought 'WHERE'S MINE'?!?! Sorry I had to be a little selfish, but I'm so glad you shared, because it did make me feel a little at ease hearing no one is having too hard of a time! I will be driving like a mad lady to get home after work to check the mail box, forget those after work errands that needed done today!!!!!(:

ProudNavy Mom-- if your SR had guard duty on Sunday he may not have had anytime to write or get letters to the area to be mailed. But I too received a letter and they sound as though they are doing good! He said many haven't learned the art of teamwork yet and that they are an all male division...so instead of talking things out they all want to fight about it! lol--he did say they are getting better about it though.He asked me for pictures so others may be looking for the same things...good luck stalking the mailman!

I got mine today! He sounded good :) Said it was a lot different from what he had expected but that he was adjusting to it. This forum has been a life saver. Since the others seem to get their stuff faster its a great heads up and gives me something to look forward to!

So happy...I got 7 letters from my son today! He also wrote letters to both of his brothers and his sister! I am shocked and amazed by how much different he already sounds. He said he misses home, but was very positive and upbeat. I could not be more proud of him! Counting down the days until PIR!

When the phone rings here at home. I wounder if it's him! Just hoping to hear chipper voice.
