Woot woot!  We received our first official letter from our SR today...  He says he is doing good and has adjusted well to his new life at boot camp.  He said it wasn't as bad as he expected and that he was actually "enjoying it"...  LOL    He really praised his RDC's and said that they were really strict but that they would help them in anyway possible.  He said he thought the RDC's at Ship 13 Division 309 (in his opinion) were the best on the base!!! Thank God for answered prayers.  He said so far he has not been chewed out!!!!!  LOL   This momma is so happy and can now breathe and eat!!!!!!   He also said that he was going to church with a couple of his friends.  Please post if you have received letters... I would love to know if any of your kids are friends with him......  Still checking up on him even in boot camp!!!! LOL

crap i even misread my own writing, excitment overwhelming me i guess

Hey girls, I am with you on replying to posts.  I think I just posted that in the wrong place.  But I have been so excited since getting his letter that I have not been to able to put together a complete sentence.. LOL  I can only imagine what I will be like when he calls....  LOL   Please ladies keep in touch.....

I have sent you a friends request, please let me know if you do not get it.  My son wrestled in high school and did very well.  He did one year of jr college but spent way too much time having fun, partying, etc, so Navy was Plan B.  He is 20 yrs old.  He did not do so well on his ASVBAD test so i am almost sure he is leaving from BC straight to either Virginia or San Diego, hopefully not further than that.  I am good with it all. I am so proud of him for making the decision and i as a Mom think it is his calling and I know he will be a leader.  I am excited to have you on here and again please let me know if you do not get my friends request.  HUGS!

One of the things Shelby shared in his letter was that the RDC's cursed at them a lot but that each night before lights out they prayed.  Wow!!!!  I am so thankful for the answered prayers.  We have prayed that he would be placed in a division where the RDC's would be flexible and allow them to pray.  I am sure your son will do fine in what ever field he goes into.   Hopefully he has already gotten most of the partying out of his system.  LOL  After receiving Shelby's letter I am confident he is where God wants him as well.  That's all we can do as parents now is to pray and ask God to use them in a positive manner somewhere in the world.  I look forward to chatting with you more.....  I am going to check fb now.....  Hugs and blessings for you and your family!!!!!

Hey Leisa, I did not get a friends request from you.   Did you send it from facebook ro where????????

Haha, I got your request.  I switch back and forth from the fb Navy for Moms page and this one I got confused...  But I accepted you.  Hopefully we can chat now.  I am so happy you got a letter from your SR...  I know it is overwhelming but they are doing what they want and they will be great sailors.  We just have to continue to send letters and pray for them.  I am now a little greedy I would love to get another letter this week!!!! Haha!!!!!

I am happy for you and such great news for you and your family...I have not received anything yet..so I just keep thinking no news is good news...right????

Jo

Thats what I have been told is "no news is good news"  but that is hard for a momma.  Hang in there maybe you will hear something soon...  Hugs!!!!

Hi shelvysmom. I did send one on this site and it shows that i sent to you. Have you looked in your friends box to see if its in the "request receivef" box

WOOT WOOT AS SHELBYSMOM SAYS! LOL  Got my first letter from him today...first words were i miss you terribly but not in the crying sense just the i really miss you sense..and he said one day here feels like a week. lol  He said the instructors/petty officers can be nice but most of the time just yelling. He said there is no physical contact allowed not even a hand shake or a high five.  I almost didnt recognize his handwriting at first and then he mentioned down the letter where his handwriting started to change that the first part of the letter was his new Navy writing that he is required to use, not sure how he got away with the last part that was no so navy...lol  says the food isnt bad at all and have a full salad bar and coke machine but he is been drinking water only and eating healthy.  He said several have dropped out but thats not ever in his future and brow wipe, thank goodness!  So proud of him and i hope those who have not received a letter got one today!

I got my letter today as well! I was pleased and shocked to see not 4 but 5 written pages of notes he has kept over the last 2 weeks. He too said he was doing well, but was envious of the kids that got sent home once or twice..lol.... He was kidding.. He is also ship 13, Div 309! He is actually with one of the kids he left Buffalo with- so if TF's mom is reading this, inbox me, I'd love to speak with you... Looks like our boys are getting to be quite close....

I just had some major, unexpected neck surgery Monday and am laid up for a bit..l I needed this letter today- whew!

I have some of his friends on my Facebook, and I read day after day about what they are doing... Basically, nothing... And as sad as I am that my boy isn't here with me right now, I'm happy he isn't here as well....
Be proud, moms... Our kids are going places and doing everything we wanted them to.
Xoxox
Colleen

Ps- I am very jealous I didn't get a phone call.. Lol....

I couldn't agree more with your Colleen, WE know our boys have a bed to sleep in, food to eat, clothes on their backs and a check in the bank.   Not a lot of the kiddos that my son graduated with can say that.  But more importantly they are not out drinking and doing drugs........ Thank God!!!!!!

I am so glad you got your letter and that it made your day better.  We are blessed with good kids or the Navy would have already sent them home........

Now just to get that 3 week phone call.  I am going to start my list of questions now so I will have them ready when he calls.......

It is so good to chat with a couple of ladies that is going through what I am going through.....

Love and hugs to you all!!!!!
