Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I am with you calm but with bouts of nerves. I feel like we have done all we can do here at home to help her get ready. We had a big party with all the family so they could say goodbye. And now one big outing with all women of the family sisters,aunts,cousins, and of course me to do the big "haircut" and one final day of pampering before she goes. Remember your not alone if you need anything!! I think you are right it has helped to read all the other moms post:) I have also considered myself patriotic, but I find myself decorating more in the red white and blue and really am understanding what so many families do for the USA. I am feeling so proud!! And can't wait until we see our PIR dates posted and the Sarge's meet and greet:) Then I will know we are getting close:)

I too have decorated in red, white and blue. Never felt more patriotic. We let off a flsg sky lantern at his going away party on the 1st (he left the 4th). Amazing all his friends started singing "God Bless America" as the sky lantern rose into the night sky. Sent chills down my spine and tears down my face.

Hi, Navy Moms!
My son is leaving from California September 4th as well. This past weekend he moved back home (he is 24) to spend the week before he goes in with us. I'm trying so hard not to hover over him as I think he would like the week to be just a normal week with the family, but it's hard not to grab him in a big hug every time he walks by! I can't tell you how relieved I am to find this site and see so many other Moms feeling the same way. Bless you all!

He left Sept 4th from Buffalo, NY. Received his clothes and phone on Friday. Just waiting on that form letter. I heard that one division that left this past week got to call home yesterday. Must be mine wasn't it that division. Bummer. Can't wait to hear from him. Never been this long without talking with him. Just remember .......we gave these kids life and gave them a wonderful upbringing. Look at the great kids they turned out to be. I am very proud of the son he has become and wanting to join the military. It is scary for me at the same time, but very proud at what he wants to do. Good Luck to all your new recruits and to you mommas too.
