Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 819 & 820. It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.

Please be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in one of these divisions. Although they are still in BC, what  they are doing may be slightly different from what the other division are doing. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

Thanks sjtina.

Hi SeattleMom.  My SR is not in the 800 DIV nor the 300 DIV... and uh, I haven't received a letter either.  I'm feeling your pain.  Hugs from one mom to another...

Hi Maile - Maybe it just takes longer to get to our side of the country.  :)  Guess this is where patience is a virtue.  Thanks for the hugs.....and back at 'cha.

I'm in this group with you and I haven't received a letter yet.  I did receive the letter from the bank that he as an account with them.

Guessing the 820's were incredibly busy last Sunday.  Maybe we'll all see something from them this time next week.  Keep our fingers crossed.

Thanks, for the answer new to this

Does anyone know for the SR's that have SEAL contracts and will be attending Buds Prep, how much time between boot camp and when they have to report for Buds Prep? We have known two others in the past who were in the same situation, one had a week off in between and the other had 10 days in between and they both flew home in between.  Just wondering how long to stay after PIR. Anyone have any idea?

No, but would like to know too.  Our family would love to be able to spend a few extra days with my son, if he's got the time available.  I asked in the letter I sent to him today but assume I'll need to book my trip before I get his response.  Right now, I'm assuming we'll only have until Sunday evening and that he'll be starting Prep on Monday. Would be a shame if it ends up that he has the whole week off and we fly home on Monday.  Ahhhhhh, dilemma......do I book or do I wait.....book it or wait.....book or wait..........where is that crystal ball anyway??!

Well...I bit the bullet before either of you replied and booked our flights, but booked to return Sunday morning:(  I bought the insurance in case anything changes, but now wish I would have scheduled to come home Monday morning.  May check to see if I can change it.

I don't know about your insurance, but I bought the insurance offered with my airline ticket.  My son's graduation changed to a week later and I had to change my ticket and guess what?  The insurance doesn't cover that particular thing....just medical emergencies, death or court dates.  I am trying to get the word out to everyone I can so you don't get tickets too soon.

Yes, you are right! I didn't know that either, until I read the fine print this morning, BUT I happened to call within 24 hours of making the reservation so they cancelled and refunded insurance and tickets fully. I was able to make reservations through United for cheaper than the original and paid $33 for a "Fairlock" that holds tickets at price I reserved them for ($220!) for 7 more days. So I can cancel or change if I find out anything different in the next week at no charge.

Each division before you has talked about this same time off. Its more or less down time as they wait for the next division to class up with them. I noticed there is a 821 division that will be joining your guys the following week.

So my answer for you is that you can count on the weekend. The week may be slow for them, but not enough to spend the day with you, possible evenings only. I would not count on them coming home unless they get approval in advance. They will be limited to a 50 mile radius and they have only accrued a few days liberty while in BC. Its 2 1/2 days a month.

I would suggest staying to Monday anyway. You will have him until 8 or 9 so take advantage of every second.
