Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 04 (USS Arleigh Burke) Divisions 819 & 820 (brother divisions)
Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 819 & 820. It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.
Please be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in one of these divisions. Although they are still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other division are doing. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

His first form letter said ship 04 Div. 820. The 2nd form letter said ship 11 div 319. I don't know what it means. We didn't even know he was going into 820 till he was headed to boot camp. He is going into Aircrew.

OH I bet that is it. He was in the wrong division in the first place so they put him in the one for Aircrew. I don't know that for a fact but that is what is sounds like. I'm new at this so I'm not sure if that is correct. Mine isn't Aircrew and he is in the 820 Div.

Well, that is where I guess I am confused. I only have the info my son's recruiter gave us and he said Aircrew was part of the 800 division. I wish anyone could give me something here cause I am in mental anguish not knowing what is happening and why he has switched divisions. Can anyone on this site help me??? Please? Any info at all will help. I don't expect I will get a letter from him till around Thursday, when I get his first letter and in the meantime I can hardly stand not knowing what it going on and what reasons there could be for switching divisions. Anyone?

Tea I do not believe aircrew is part of the 800 divisions, unless it air rescue swimmer. Airmen train in Pensacola and not PreBuds.
Try not to get too upset over the confusion, you will know when you get your first letter. What division and ship was on his form letter? I think recruiters say a lot of things that aren't necessarily true.

sjtina, on his first form letter it said ship 04 div. 820, graduating Sept 28. Then 4 days later, another form letter with ship 11 div 319. I was very surprised the first letter to see he was in 820, but asked his recruiter and he said yes, that was right. So, like a dummy, I bought our tickets. Completely jumped the gun, and now I find out they are non refundable and he is graduating one weekend later. I am more concerned, though, with what could have happened. I am just being a worried mom and am sure his letter will put my mind at ease. The problem is I want to be at ease right now. I must have a problem with patience.

Thank you Selaine6 this is helpful. I too will be like you on Sunday saying good bye again. This is so hard for an over protective mom. I've had to calm myself down a little. For the frist 4 days I would cry at everything. I now just pray every day and night for him that God will protect him and let him excel in what he wants to do. I am just so waiting on that first call. It will be 2 weeks Tuesday since I saw his smiling face. I do miss my son.

You are not alone... I cried if you looked at me..if you didnt look at me and for no reason...but it gets easier I promise.. I just talked to a friend of mine, her son is about to graduate and she is just like you and I.. Emotional wreck.
