Hello:

I've been receiving letters about the division from my son.  He says that their division is bonding and there's a sense of brotherhood within their group.  He also stated that on some nights (I believe on Sundays) they've been having great heart to heart talks, singing, rapping, free-styling just to wine down and get things off their chest.  He stated that there's a lot of Corpsmen in this division with the same aspirations.  He stated that their RDC is a Master Chief, the highest enlisted rank, so their division is lucky.  He says they are eating well and so far everything's going great.  He also said that his bunkmate is from New York.  I just wanted to share some things with everyone who has a SR in this division.  I hope to hear stories from any and eveyone and hope to meet some of you on grad date 9/14! Stay encouraged and God Bless!

PS: I missed his first call on Saturday, did any of you receive a call?

I got 4 letters this week, last one today. He said that most of the division has to do extra pt for not understanding or not following orders correctly but that he hasn't been ordered extra pt (I think it is because he is too old lol). He said they are now allowed more time to write and that everyone is working well together.

Hope my 'old' SR is in the same boat with the pt situation. :-) Happy to know they're unified, it will make the last few weeks roll by more smoothly.

Good morning!  Wow PIR is coming up quickly - can't wait!  My SR is in 293.  Can anyone please clarify which "day" they're on?  My hubby and I have been trying to figure it out.  Are they just starting their Hell week or finishing it?  We've had a few letters and phone calls and they were all positive.  He also mentioned how the division works well together and they have their "bonding time" at night where they either rap, do pushups (why??? LOL!)  or just get to know each other better.  It has been so beneficial seeing other comments and stories.  It really does help!  :)

Tomorrow will be week 4 day 2 of training. The beggining of hell week.

Has anyone gotten a phone call from your SR in Ship13-Div293 yesterday or today? Just checking. . Thanks.
Thank you. I've only received the 30 sec "I'm here" call, then the 10min call last Sat as well. Just wanted to double check. I'm so anxious to hear from my SR again. I know it will be unlikely until that last "I'm a sailor call", but just hoping & praying I get to hear his voice again soon.

Yep, no calls this weekend.  It's so good to know that they're division is strong and that they pray every night!  PIR will be here before we know it!  Thanks for the great posts and updates! It helps so much! God Bless

Hi all! We are getting a tropical storm, hurricane to be  tomorrow, so PLEASE if division 293 calls can you do me a favor and tell your SR to let the old SR with kids know there is a tropical depression and that's the reason there is no phone service? Don't want to tell him is a hurricane! Thanks!!

I am so in need for a call!  I'm having one of my crying spells again :-( and I've been racing to the mailbox and no mail as well.  I'm hoping to get a letter today.  Hand in there Always a Mom! I'm totally in the same boat.

Got a letter from my SR today - he wrote it during holiday time on Sunday.  He said he thought they may be able to make calls this weekend, so lets all keep our fingers crossed!  22 days from tomorrow!!  :)

Got a letter from my SR today. He said things are going well but cannot wait for graduation.  He said it's starting to get repetitive.  He said that he has a buddy that got accepted into the ceremonial guard in Washington DC and will not be going to Florida anymore. If this sounds like your son please friend request me.  He also said Monday was 5-2 and only two more weeks until battle station.  After that he said it's recruit heaven week. This week they have a few inspection and firefighting classes.  All in all he sounded positive :) that's all I can ask for........ but I would really love a phone call.

Well just as I was getting my hopes up, one week until graduation, I got a great letter today...I was feeling so good!!! Well my high spirits quickly went away when I got a call from my SR a couple of hours ago...it was quick and straight to the point. He said that he may not be graduating because he didn't pass the run, he said he has one more shot at it on Monday..I was able to squeeze in that we are already booked our flight and we are ready to go..He sounded horrible, he said that he will let us know the results...I was able to tell him to stay strong and focused and I know he can do it and he said I love you, gotta go. I'm feeling awful!!!!!
