I'm getting so excited to see my son and meet everyone at PIR (and Sarge's meet and greet)! I can't believe it's just over two weeks. I'm back on the emotional roller coaster (excited and happy, missing him and tearful). I will be so glad when our SRs are at A school and we can talk to them everyday and text them anytime.
Thanks to everyone sharing info from their letters! When we put them all together we have a better idea of what's going on at RTC. Happy to hear about the flags!
My son mentioned that he may get to carry one of the div flags! Way cool and what a pride booster that is! Seeing him in his uniform and shaved head will be overwhelming but a memory that will be cherished.
Thanks Barb! A school will be easier for everyone, Im sure of it. I need to start looking into a vacation in San Antonio. Heard it was awesome and my son being there for A school will make it more GRAND!
My son will be in A school in San Antonio. We live in Texas and have visited many time. It is a great place with lots of Texas culture. Hope to you meet you at the PIR or Sarge's.
So our boys will be going together! Thats great! I hope they are getting to know each other now.
Barb that's wonderful! I wish I would have thought of that, it would have been so great! My daughter is going to Pensacola, as well! And she absolutely LOVES Thanksgiving...
Great prices at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach in November. Water might be a little cold though. :) We stayed there in June to visit the base, see the Blue Angels, and have a last family vacation before bootcamp. I can't wait to see where he's stationed next. I guess we need to get our passports made. :)
Good news for Div 287: As of August 16 they had three flags. Div 288 won two (which was already posted). Not sure how many they have now. They were doing Live Fire on Friday. Hope they had some excellent marksmen in the group. I just got has letter from Thursday today (later than usual). I hope I get his Sunday letter tomorrow.
Remember that they really love sharing pictures and updates from the "real" world. We keep sending them and he keeps requesting more.
How are finding all this out? Your SR must really be filling you in. My SR told me he got a ribbon but I have no idea for what. My son asked for wallet pictures and boy is he getting them.....lol. He also told me that he was in SIQ most likely for his wisdom teeth because again he doesn't tell me why. He told his gf that they sure have alot of demerits and they keep "screwing" up but again, not how....lol. So luckily your SR is specific. i've asked my SR several times for the week/day thing and he never includes it and I guess it wouldn't matter if he did because he dates nothing. It's ok, that's what this group is for and together we piece it together but you are GOOD......lol
That I saw, I'm glad to finally know. Thank you for sharing so much with us :)
