So great to hear that others received a phone call also...I was so excited and trying to ask him so many things..He sounded great!! He will be going on to A school in San Antonio.

We got our call too!! :0)  Yay! They are happy!!

No letters yet,but I did get a phone call! I was so happy to hear from my SR he sounded great!

I am so happy we just recieved the first phone call from our recruit!!! It would have been about 6:15 pm their time. So glad to hear his voice, it just went too fast. He sounded great. I have a question regarding the callsforrecruits.org site if anyone has used this site for free calling cards. I couldn't figure out how to get the  PIN #. Do they send you cards or just a number to use? Do you send them on to the recruits or do they send them directly to the recruits? Can't wait until I see my recruit, soon to be sailor. So proud of him serving our country!

so happy for that first phone call today! Said that he waited in line forever and when he finally got to call they were getting them off the phone after about 4 or 5 minutes. So great to hear his voice and he sounds proud and happy for the most part! Said that he has met a lot of really great guys and can't wait to tell us all the funny stories. Would like to meet up at the meet and greet. We are ship -13 div 309 from Ohio. He has a high school classmate in the same ship and division. My son's initials JC, his friend is CB (haven't quite figured out what you can and can't do on this site). They are both great kids (I mean men). Love to read all of your posts and comments!

happymom03 - So Happy for your first call i know your walking on air..BIG CONGRATS!  I am attending the meet and greet and believe we are going to Flannigans as that seems to be the original meet and greet.  I've asked if anyone is going on this link but havent had a lot of responses.  I am going to add you to my friends on here.  My son too is shp 13 div 309 his initials DT....lol  so figure it out..ha ha kidding

Happymom03 nevermind i already have you on my list.  LOL

Hi Everyone!!  Not sure if any of you are interested, but there is a group page started on FB  called  PIR 9/28/12  for any of you that would like to join us there. :0)  My recruit is Ship 13/Div 310 and I don't know about you, but I can't WAIT to get that hug!!!! lol  I have to say, luckily the time has been going by pretty fast so far & it will be here before we all know it. I feel bad I can't make any of the meet & greets but we are staying in the Navy Lodge so it should be fun! Hope to meet some of you there! Hang in there all... only a little bit longer!! <3

My son is also that ship and division ... we are half way there!!

Just an FYI in case you didnt know and i just learned this...sometimes or maybe all the time, they have to wait in line for other divisions to call home and if they are behind a division and waiting to call home, depending on how long the division in front of them takes to make calls home then they can basically get Sc'wd out of their time to call home...so if you get a short phone call that is probably one of the main reasons  why or may explain why you have not received a call at all (just bad luck for them and timing), so if you have not heard from your SR, that could be the very reason cause you know they want to talk to their MOTHER!  i am 150% sure of that.  keep the faith

Hey, did anyone else get their call tonight? That was an AWESOME surprise!!!!  Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well & getting prepared for PIR soon. He sounds so excited & grown up already!  :0)

Hello all! The time if finally coming when we get to see our SR! We are so so excited.  Have any of you got letters saying they are doing horrible at marching?!  Hopefully they figure it out!! I'd love to hear from you all!!
