Kellybellymom,
I got one letter last week that was dated August 26th and it was very short. It just said that things were getting better but that things were hectic for them right now and he didn't have much time to write. We were going to drive but I have a family member that cant make the trip and I have to hurry back to him. Send me a friend request and I will give you the last info I was given about their final tests...or you may already have gotten that?
Amanda
Ladies, hello again. we are from sw kansas. my husband and i will be attending PIR for our son. we also will be bringing our SR's daughter (4 1/2 ) and son (almost 3). our son is a "older" SR. We can't hardly wait...it's getting closer...
We are staying at the courtyard by merritt. SR is going to be a nuke, so he will be going to Charleston after PIR. I had a sad thought this afternoon...it's been just over a month now. and we have just a few short weeks to wait to see him. BUT after he gets to Goose Creek...i will probably have to wait 6 months between visits...THEN after he is assigned a boat...who knows how often we will lay eyes on him...wow!
But on the plus side... we live in the computer age...cell phones, worldwide web...skype....we could be back 20 years ago with just ma bell and snail mail...
I told my hubby - we will have to adjust our budget...not just having a "vacation" fund but a "travel fund" as well!!! :)
Hi! My son is ship 14 Div 289. We will be at Sarge's meet and greet and are staying at the Courtyard Marriott. I can not wait for Sept. 14th! I miss my son so much! I am really looking forward to meeting all you wonderful moms as well!
my husband told me that battlestations is this wednesday and they will call with in 24 hours of finishing. so most likely on thursday day. the "I'm a Sailor" call :D
Received a letter from my daughter today that was dated Aug. 16 day 4-1. Just in case you were wondering what "day" our div's were on! She also said that they finally got their first flag! (DIV 290). Yay!!!
did she say what their flag was for???
Well, that was stupid of me not to say! lol She said, "We got a flag for our zone inspection." I think I know what that is, but not entirely sure. Just glad that they finally got one!
We got 2 letters from our SR today and she made a birthday card/letter for her big brother (so sweet). They miss each other alot, he even got an anchor tattoo on his wrist and the rope that drapes around it is in the shape of a letter R for his sister. The letters were short but she sounds so happy. And of course she asked about her puppies. lol Can't wait until the 14th.
Mama B, That's so sweet of her to remember birthdays! I'm so proud of the new 317 DIV of girls, but a little sad as my daughter told me that our DIV was going to be the all-girl DIV but paper work didn't get processed in time. When she told me this, I thought, "well, that would have been cool, but whatever" now that they have pics of the girls on the RTC Facebook page, I'm sad that our girls didn't get that! lol I'd give anything to see a pic of her right now!
Yeah, my birthday was last month and she had arranged to have flowers delivered to me and even prepaid them, but I never got them. Oh well. I know what you mean, I would love to see pics of Becca too. That's not fair. But that is really cool about the all girls division tho.
does anyone know if there is a facebook page for this group/division and what it's called? Thanks
