For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

phone calls
My boyfriend has been at basic for 3 weeks and i got his first letter, but i was wondering if i would get a phone call at all? I heard that they get do call you once but then i also heard they can call a few times. im just really confused!

I got the first call when my SR arrived, 30sec script call to say he's there & safe. Then got a 10min call on 11Aug2012. I believe the next one will be week 7 to say "I'm a sailor" call. I know it's not a lot but getting & writing letters help. :-)

They only get the "I'm here" phone call & the "I'm a Sailor phone call". All other phone calls are privileges that can be earned and taken away at each division's RDC's discretion. If you get more phone calls than that you are lucky. Some divisions do & some get none at all. They can be earned by doing well on tests & inspections; they can be earned & taken away; and they can be taken away for doing poorly on tests & inspections, whether one person or the whole division does poorly; for bad behavior (again all it takes is one person misbehaving to get the privilege taken away) or just because the RDC's decide so.

We got the "I'm here" call and nothing until Battle Stations was over (some bad behavior issues in his Div). From what I heard in the FB groups and on here it really depends on a lot of different things. But after Battle Stations we got a call every day but one. It can be very confusing to say the least lol, but when you get a call it is so wonderful. Just keep writing as much as possible, they live for letters from home.

Thank you. he wrote in his last letter that he would get to call me tomorrow from 1-2 or 5-6 and im hoping its from 5-6.

I just got my first phone call from my sailor (also graduating the 28th of sept.) yesterday and spoke for about 15 mins. His division has been doing really well though and he has been starboard watch leader for the last 2weeks so that may be why. I got the caller iD from a Waukeagan, IL. I thought it would show up as a restricted number but it didn't! So be on the look out this week for calls! Hang in there and see you at PIR in sept!
