For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

"beatings"..."beat down"..."IT"=Intensive Training (the E is probably for exercise)...pretty much all the same thing...just with variations in the length and the training dished out. It won't effect graduation for the Division. IT will happen no matter what...
Even though I wouldn't want to do it :-) ...it can help in the team building process...they are learning to have a group mentality...you will see this reflected in future letters!

My son wrote in his letter that he had a cool bunkmate. They help each other make their beds and he said we work together Mom and we have a great system and we are FAST. It does my heart good to know one of your boys have met my boy and they are now friends working together to better a bad situation. Awesome! I only wish I knew who he is and I owe him a hug.

Hi Everyone. I got my 2nd letter today. After I read posts this morning, my heart was very heavy and I did not know what to expect. Things sounded like they were not going well. My SR recruit says he is adjusting ok. There is a set routine now. He says it is hard but what did you expect at boot camp! He said lots of kids are leaving. He said the RDC yells constantly but he sees how it makes you stronger. He was excited about getting their dress whites. He wants me to find out if there is a Rainforest cafe in Chicago.! Always thinking of food. Most of all he just wants us to write ! All in all I think it was very positive.

I got a letter today he sounded pretty up beat. He has 3 other recruits from boston. He made alot of friends. He found out that no letters are given out on saturday or sundays. He had first inspection got ding for a blanket was off a milimeter . They got there dress uniforms on this past monday. Him and his bunkmate are considered the class clowns . His div does alot of IT because of not listening. Most of the training is in doors except marching . He misses his bed. I miss him so darn much ugh :(

We received our second letter today:) my son says there is no mail call saturdays or Sunday . He said his division 313 has to do a lot IT for not listening or paying attention. He also says that they all have to iron every night if they don't they are in trouble. He says they got there dress uniform on this past monday. He met 3 other SR from Boston, he made a lot of friends but there are some that cannot stand him at all ( sounds like high school ) they can only write on Sundays but can read letters all week when they have time. They are indoors thru most of there training except marching they are outside. He likes the RDC's and he met 5 corpsman, he said his bunk mate is awesome they goof around together and bothers everyone they can. But all and all sounds very positive . He is fine while mom sitting hear crying her eyes out blah. I hope u all received letters.

Just got my first phone call! He was mostly Okay...if that makes sense. I was fine during the call but I may curl up and cry now.

Got a phone call too but missed it so got around a 5 minute voice mail
That i can repeat multiple times! Still sad i missed him though -
