We got the "letter" today!!!!

We are both so excited to finally know his address and what division he is in!!! We had both encouraged him to tell the truth when asked about previous marching experience and apparently he did since he is in Div 943! We are both thrilled to see him on 9/7!!!

I cant wait... It does not seem like its gotten any easier

We got a letter today!!! YAY!!! He said they are now allowed to write on Sun, Tues & Thursday and he usually sends them on Monday & Wednesday if he is lucky (his words not mine). He passed his PFA for the 2nd time and was 2nd in the division. So this week is week 5 of training. They will be learning firefighting and damage control. Hopefully he remembers some of the stuff I taught him about fire fighting. LOL.

My cousin works at GL as a civillian contractor. He called me yesterday afternoon to tell me that he knew our SR was in one of two buildings. My cousin saw the flags outside the "Gas Chamber" & fire fighting training building so they were in one of those two building yesterday. I thought that was cool that he could "see" our son. Even though he didn't actually see him. LOL.

Tomorrow our SR's will be in their first PIR!!!! I joined the group for tomorrows PIR in the hopes that someone will post pictures of them. Here is a link to it in case you want to join too. http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir08242012

We can't wait for PIR sept 7 th, it's almost here!!!! We get regular letters now and we know pretty much what's going on except not sure if my Cody is flags, band or what. Guess we might find out in the next letter! Cody said they all keep catching colds from each other, hope they can shake that soon!

Hello Moms/wives/girlfriends of Div 943! I will be at PIR on 8/31 & my son is in div 942. I know that your SRs will also be participating in this PIR. If you can tell me what part they are, flags, honor guard, band ect, I will try to take some pics to share with you all & maybe you'll get an early glimpse of your SR! A wonderful mom from last weeks PIR did this for me & it was wonderful! Just inbox or firend request me!

My son will be playing trumpet also. Thanks for doing this. Goodluck to your SR.

My son will be doing Drill. I would love to see a picture of him! He said he is spinning rifles. Thank you so much. good luck and Congrats to your son.
wow nursecat that is awesome, my daughter is in the choir, thanks a ton!!

Hello! My son plays trombone. Looking on Facebook but yesterday's PIR photos have not been posted yet.

I've been looking to but I suspect that the families that had PIR this weekend have been busy spending time with their sailors. Hopefully we will get to see some pictures this week.

I haven't had a letter from my recruit for almost 2 weeks. I know he is an EPO and in the band/drill, but we've also had no phone calls. I'm hoping that no news is good news. If he were seriously ill, I;m sure RTC would've called us. I believe our recruits have Battle Stations this week. Have any of the rest of us had letters? calls? Share with those of us (me) who have not please. I just keep writing to him and hope I get a couple of lines in reply. :)

Best of luck and wishes to all recruits from Dairyland!

Our last letter was on Wednesday last week. I'm not sure what EPO is but I suspect he is even busier than the rest of them. I found a picture on Facebook from a Mom who's son had PIR on Friday so I am going to share it for you all. My SR is in back of the young lady in the middle of the two guys wearing glasses. You can only see the top half of his face but it is definately him. There are 2 male trombone players GrannyRachel so I really hope that one of them is your recruit!!!! BTW - if you click on the picture it gets bigger!!!
