Got a call this evening from my son.  Out of all days, I left the house without my cell phone.  Lucky for me, he remembered my work number and call there.  We talked for 45 minutes. Sounds positive, but said it would be a lot easier if everyone would just listen and do what they were told. Hope you call got or will get that all soon.

My hubby called but kids were so sick i didnt make it to the phone at all. My kids
got bronchitis and are on a nebulizer now. They have it so bad that the
Kids dr almost put joey ( my youngest 2 year old) in the ER. So although i feel
Horrible about missing the call i also know i had a massively long
Day!

Sorry you missed your call...hope the kids get better soon ((Hugs))

Thank you! I sent a letter letting him know not to
worry but telling him about the kids and giving
him current pics of both kids. Hoping it helps a bit

Got my 2nd letter AND a call today!!! He said things are a little better than what it was in his first letter, but that the division (in his opinion) isn't working well at all together. They have a long way to go to become a cohesive group. He says there are some guys trying to throw their weight around and yell and boss the others, and then some yell back at them. I think when there are 90 guys from different regions all across the country it's probably just kind of different and is going to take some time to get used to one another. Hopefully they begin working better as a team soon. He did say he had trouble with the corners on the bed making, and one guy who is really good at it showed him how. That was really nice of him. Thanks to whoever he is, and that's a great way to demonstrate leadership and to be a positive role model!  They DQ'd my son on his pushups on the first PFA after 11, but didn't tell him why so he doesn't know what he did wrong. He said the division didn't do very well at all on their practice inspection that they all thought was the real thing while they were doing it. I think he said they got a 1.5 or something. Even so he's feeling better, and feels like he will be able to get through but is a little worried about being set back. I told him not to worry, just to do his best and all that matters is that he do his best and get through - doesn't matter if it is on time or not. I'll still be just as proud of him! So happy to hear his voice! :-)

That is great Stephanie,  I got a call from Kyle as well today..sicker than a dog with a bad cough, but he said it was due to one of the shots they just got.  He sounded GREAT, he loves it. Said it is easier than he thought it would be. We talked for about 40 mins.  I was at work and on the phone with a police officer that had just left with one of my shoplifters, he needed some information from me and when my cell phone rang and I seen the number, I told the cop I have to go that is my son calling from boot camp and hung up on him...lol when I called him back 45 mins later, he still had my shoplifter in his car, cause he could not process her till he got the information from me...oh well that is what she gets for stealing 245.00 dollars from my store on the day my son called...lol  the cop was funny about it (we are good friends thank god)

Kyle really did not say much about the other people there other than some of them need to shut up and listen better...he seemed like things were going good....I am so glad that your SR is feeling better ...((Hugs))  Jo

Funny, cuz that is the same thing Dalton said in his letter and our phone conversation. Certain SR's just don't shut up! Dalton sounded very good and that made me feel very good. Oh how I can't wait till Sept 28th. Did you order the ribbons everyone is talking about on this site?

Kazzam...I was so glad to get that call today....Kyle also told me the only reason he called his dad with the I am here call is cause he could not remember my phone number...lol....but that made me feel better too...I know that is bad of me...but moms should come first.. :)

Glad Dalton is doing well....and what ribbons are you talking about..I really do not go off this page...please let me know where to find it..thanks ...((hugs))

Jo

What are the ribbons? Do you know where I can order them? I don't want to miss out on anything!
Thank you :)

The ribbons are for families to wear to PIR and the Meet and Greet. They ar to show your pride for your Sailor, to help you recognize other members from your DIV and they make a great keepsake. They are made by a Navy Mom, (that's me) :-) You can click on my name or picture and it will take you to my page. There are some pictures there and a link to place an order and you can send me a friend request for more info or an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com Thanks so much :-)

So excited to get my phone call today. We only talked about 10 minutes before his calling card ran out. I was so bummed I couldn't talk to him longer. He said he is ok but still frustrated that his Division keeps messing up and they have to do ITs. It sounds awful. He said he is really sore from all of the extra work but he has a good attitude and is trying to make the best of it I made it through the call and afterward cried off and on the rest of the night. I still miss him so much. I can't wait for PIR. Does anyone know if they will get to call again before the official "I'm a Sailor"call?
