Hi Ladies,
I got a letter from my son saying that Battle Stations is TODAY!! It started today and goes into tomorrow, since it is 12 hours long....i believe upon completing Battle Stations they will be SAILORS!!!!!!!!!! We may get phone calls tomorrow saying "IM A SAILOR!!!" Keep those cell phones close!! Next week they practice for graduation, and he said he will be able to spend the weekend with us in Chicago until he flies out Sunday for "A School"...I am a happy mom!!!!! I hope you all are getting letters too...GO DIV 273 and 274!!!
Thank you so much for the heads up! Been praying ever since. Counting down the hours to THAT call!
Hi navymom711, where is your son going to A school? I thought that they flew out on Monday?? My son is going to A school in Texas. I may have been misinformed! Im not sure! Im so proud of our SAILORS!! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL!!!
Hi Codeysmom! I believe he is going to San Antonio TX to be Master at Arms, which is the Navy police from what I understand. Im proud of our SAILORS too!! Cant wait to kiss the top of his shaved head!!! (What happens on Navy for Moms stays on Navy for Moms! Lol! ) Maybe our sons will be together?? ; >
They just might be together!!!! My son ALSO is going to be Master at Arms (Military Police) He is going to A school in Arlington TX!!!! Im pretty sure he said Arlington!? Have you gotten your" Im a Sailor" call yet? Im still anxiously waiting!!
I bet they will be together! Yes, I got my call at 2:00 pm! He said Battle Stations had begun at 8:30 pm last night and ended at 9:00 am this morning. They are SAILORS!! They received their Navy ballcaps (instead of the ones they had been wearing that said recruit). He said Battle Stations was easy but staying awake was difficult. I asked him what he had for lunch and he said " a hamburger, a corn dog, some potatos, cinammon toast crunch..." lol! Not only did they not sleep, they missed breakfast so they were tired and hungry! They have accomplished so much! Hopefully next week will be a little easier, just practicing for PIR...we are in the home stretch, yay!!
I got my phone call at 3:20 today...I was and am sooooo happy and proud of him and all of the new SAILORS! What a great job they have all done! :))))))))
Hello All....I have probably met some of you on the FB pages. Looking forward to meeting you in person at PIR 8/31.
