Welcome to the discussion group for division 821.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division.  Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division.  Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

It now shows our division...thank you!

Your welcome!

thanks so much!

Hi, my son is in Div. 821. I've read the OPSEC rules...I'm (obviously) a newbie to all of this. I have received a letter from my SR - and he let me know about graduation date being October 5th, but that's about all I know about graduation. So, do I just book my hotel now?....or what? Any advice on how to proceed would be most helpful! Thanks to everyone for posting - because it really is heartening to read your comments and experiences.

my advice is to book now, when I booked mine last week they were filling up fast...go on RTC website and they have a very informative family guide on it...lots of info....I have read lots so feel free to contact me anytime, it is so nice to hear from another parent..I feel very isolated, and I don't think there are very many of us....we received a packet that had a flyer in it with hotels and other info...I'm here if you need me :)

Hello Everyone -

Last night I got a phone call from my S.R. - He was in good spirits and full of details about what he's been doing for the past few weeks.  He said the training has been difficult but really rewarding - he also mentioned that there were a lot of recruits who have transferred (if that's the right term for it) out of the 821 Division, and that it's a rather small group, relative to the other Divisions. He said that, on the whole, he felt everyone who has "made it" this far is going to be fine for the remainder of boot camp. He said the food was simple but good - (we are a serious cooking family so he knew I would be worried about that.)  He laughed and said that during the first week, he dreamed repeatedly about making up his "rack" perfectly-- only to look down and see that somehow it had magically gotten messed up again.

It's hard to explain how he sounded both very humble and exceedingly proud at the same time. I think, so far, the experience has been eye-opening for him and he's finding out a lot about himself (That is, when he has two seconds to reflect on all of it - because they are BUSY.) He says they work out and train like beasts...but he really likes it.

He also said the hardest part is not being able to talk to family and friends. He said to tell all of you that letters really do help - so, don't doubt that for a minute. He felt bad that he'd only written a few back to me and his grandparents, but he says they don't really get much time to write at this point. He said pictures are proudly passed around and shared in the rare moments they do have to themselves...so, if you want to include those in your letters - he thinks it's a big lift for the S.R.s.

That's my update. Best to all of you!

That is great that you got a call. My brother is in this division also. We just got our first letters this week and it was so great to hear from him. I wonder if only a few can make calls. Although in our letter he stated he had to get his wisdom teeth pulled so he was in recovery for two days. Maybe that is why he was not able to call. So neet to talk to others that have loved ones in this group. My brother said he loved it so far and had a lot to say about the "Clown beat down" did you hear about that? I thought that was so funny.

I got my first letter today. He seemed so happy. I have read it 4 times ready. I sure am proud of him.

I got a letter today also...I have read it several times and was soooooo excited!....He talked about how he folded his skivvies...at home he threw them on the floor lol...what I would do to see this :)

I'm with you. I've never enjoyed more misspelled words. I have finally got his room cleaned. I't took a bottle of Febreze to make it smell better. I can't wait for a phone call or letter from him.

I am so pleased to find others with loved ones in this division. I saw someone got a call. Has everyone recieved a call? We have not gotten a call yet and hoping that nothing is wrong or he is not in trouble.
