Then tell him just before you know he's coming home. But he'll be coming home for the first time so he'll still be happy...it's just a little sheltering, that's all.

Our neighbors dog died right after she left for BC and my SR absolutely loved him! There's no way Im telling her!

QuestioningSerenity:

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate that you have to go thru this when without your husband's support.((hugs))

Before my son left we had "the talk" about how much information he wanted us to share with him while he was at RTC and if he wanted to know if any family members passed away while he was there. He said that he wanted to know everything about everyone EXCEPT his dog Caesar (my profile pic). He said that if anything happened to him, he didn't want to know. (He lost his dog Jake just over a year ago and it nearly broke his heart.)

Knowing that, I think you are right to wait. It's not deceitful at all. You'll know when the time is right.

I am not computer savvy and my husband is away for a few days. I am anxious to print out our gate passes. When I try to get on to it, all I get is a blank screen. I looked up what my problem was and they say it is because we don't have the latest version of Adobe Reader. If I try to down load it, I will surly mess something up. I will just have to wait. Either that or go to my neighbors and beg to use their computer. Unfortunately, impatience is one of my bad traits. 9 days and some hours, can't wait!!! (again, impatience poking through). Also cant wait to meet a lot of you that I have been talking to. I still don't know yet if I will be at Sarges. Waiting to hear if my in-laws will be coming to PIR. I have to be patient (theres that bad word again) Mother-in-law had surgery  and is not sure if she can make it. If not at Sarges, I hope I can find you all at PIR. See you all there.

It's a pdf and you will need the Adobe.  It's free and easy download.  Try it and just follow the prompts.

Printed Gate Pass!  Yeah!  We're getting closer and closer to seeing our sailors!

Hello all

My daughters PIR is 9/7 like most of the posts I have read.  She is not a great phone communicator and doesn't share the information very well that she gets (lol) I get a letter a week, I am happy about that because I thought I would only get bits and pieces the only thing she had not told me is how do I get my gate passes and what happens after battle stations, although she did say I should expect a call on the 4th or 5th ... that's too close I need more info... I am a planner.  If anyone has any suggestions that can help me through this I would greatly appreciate this.  I can't believe it took me this long to find the group of Proud Navy Moms that are going through exactly what I am but we have 8 days until we get to see our sailors ... wow that felt really good to say.  I am the proud parent of a Sailor.

SRmom2times- yaay, so glad you found this group! Better late than never. I only get one letter a week, also. Have you found where to print your gate passes? The link is in one of this groups discussions..which division is she in? I can't stand not knowing what to do either. My son and I leave on the train Tuesday afternoon. I'm praying for a call before then because I don't know if I'll have service! And I am a planner, too. Are you going to PIR? If so, you should try and make it to Sarge's meet and greet thursday night. It seems as though most of us will be there! Anyhow, check out the link for it. You'll find it on this PIR groups main page...its great to meet you! :)

I will definitely be there to support here I will be flying in on Thursday morning with my other two girls she is division 287. I found out where to print the gate passes (all I had to do was calm down and read lol) I will try to make it to the meet and greet.  I am glad to see there are lots of loved ones supporting our SR's ... The information I got from this relieved lots of anxiety!! It is really great to meet you as well

Well his dad and I will be flying in Thursday morning. Of course FIL's plane takes off when mine is suppose to land. Eh, I cn explore for 2 hours haha. We'll be at Sarge's meet and greet, it should be fun :D

Oh! And received what are probably my last letters from my SR yesterday. Can you say overjoyed???

We're flying in Thursday afternoon, but we're staying in Chicago and not going to the meet and greet.  I can't believe this time next week PIR will be over!  It seems like a dream that it's this close.  I guess I will be in a fog for the next week!  :)

One more week to go!

Ok ladies, hope there's alot of telepathic cheering going on today for Captains Cup!!!
