I got one from my son (Ship 12/Div285) last Thurs the 16th.  He said he was being forced to write a letter. Probably forced to write home seeing the last Sunday he wrote letters to everyone else. I think he is running out of stuff to talk about besides the food (good), making his bed (surprise), push-ups ( getting better), crew duty (ha ha chores), likes his shipmates (no problem in the social dept.) who at home has his IPod(sister), who is messing with his video game ( brothers).

I am assuming we will be getting another letter soon telling more about PIR or passing Battlestations. But that would probably be a phone call which I hate because we dont know which phone he will call  or if we will be home. Last phone call I was about to leave with the dog and he called on the land line not my cell. He was lucky I answered.. ahhhh boys

No letters for me from ship12-div286 :(  Not to his girlfriend either.  Unless another relative got one ??

Hi everyone my son is in Ship12 Div286 !Im excited to see everyone at graduation!

Hi Gaskins34!  My son is Ship12-Div286 :)  Did you print your parking pass for graduation?

My son is Ship 12 Div 286! So excited for graduation! Hope to meet you there!

My Sr is so funny.(12/285) The letter I got yesterday said he still liked BC.  Likes his crew, etc ,etc.
He got to do a fire arms course.  Which is all good to hear!!
And to top it all he asks if I would send him some stamps..not a problem to do that.
But the next sentence was would I make some preprinted labels with address' ( home, grandma, cousins, friends)
and his return address because it takes to long to write the envelope out besides the letter.
I had a good laugh on that one. But printed them out and sent them

Lets see how many letters he can pump out on a Sunday with less than 2 weeks to go before PIR!
I do love my SR  you would think he was at home asking me to do something on a last minute notice : )

J Peder,

My SR is also in 12/285 and the labels may be my fault!  I sent my son some return address labels and labels home and grandparents and his girlfriend. I told him I thought it was save some time.  When he wrote me back he asked me to send some for one of his friends.  Apparently it's catching on :)

Ok That would explain his wanting of labels.  At least with  writing navy style I can read his letters. I always felt bad for his teachers because I'm sure they had trouble reading his work. Maybe since they are phasing out cursive writing in schools they should  add military writing.

It is fun to get the letters. Some weeks he writes to everyone else. But they call me and read them so I dont feel so left out. Its his 6 yr old cousin who gets so excited that he gets a Navy letter that I dont feel bad if  he writes to him.

Just a couple weeks left

Yahoo just 8 days give or take til we see our new young man ( 12 / 285 )

Hopefully all Battlestations went good for all the SR's

Has anyone gotten phone calls yet? battle stations should be soon right

No call yesterday... Hoping we get "the call" later today!

Wow- Nerve racking week . Having to wait for a phone call that says "Passed Battlestations"
