For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Places to Visit??
For anyone who's been to graduation already or for future people, what are some good places to visit on the weekend while the sailors are given liberty? I heard that they cannot go further then downtown Chicago, so in that distance is there any place worth going to? This is of course just a plan in case my boyfriend actually wants to do something instead of just relaxing at the hotel.

Do you have the whole weekend or just Friday with him? We went to Chicago Saturday & Sunday, Friday just relaxed at the hotel. They can go to Six Flags or the mall too within the distance. There is a PIR group on here also you can join, they have all the information of places to visit and stuff!

it's a good idea to have options, but really I doubt he will want to do much more then hang out you, take a shower without other dudes around and relax;) that is the truth - he has been going nonstop and A school is a lot of work too. take advantage of the time together. Have fun!

If you have the whole weekend you never know! Like I said... My husband wanted to relax and go to a nice dinner Friday night, and was ready to spend Sat & Sun in Chicago! So it's always good to have ideas of what's around!

If you do make it down to Chicago definitely go to the Navy Pier! We just walked around and didn't spend too much time because his little brother is autistic and got tired quickly. But there's lots to do there! (rides and restaurants and things, kind of like a boardwalk). Also you have to walk around Millenniumn Park-it's really cool and that's where the famous bean sculpture is! And riverboat tours. And the Sears tower-I think it's the Willis tower now. There is tons to do in Chicago and as tired as he is I'm sure he'll want to get out and do fun things since he hasn't been able to for so long! Some things to remember: he has to wear his uniform out in public and he can't hold your hand/hug/kiss.

Oh yeah, I've heard about the pier but forgot to check that out. No holding hands :( That sucks lol. Thanks for the input though.

Hello again!
There's TONS to do in Chicago! There's huge malls, great food, museums, parks, and even a zoo! As long as its within 50miles of RTC you can go :) you can walk and ride the subway just about anywhere or take a $3 cab a few blocks. There's the bean in millennium park and sears tower too! All great places for tourists and chi town first timers! Navy pier is fun but it will be crowded! Have fun! -
