Welcome to the discussion group for division 821.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division.  Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division.  Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

We haven't received one either. I am beginning to think it won't be until the end.

Good Morning - Hope you all had a good holiday weekend. It was tough being without my SR - as he's always the life of the party in our family and makes everyone laugh. I am sure that you are counting down the days with me. I have been hoping for another letter, though my son warned me that he was using the time he had to sleep - and he hoped that I would understand. (I do - as much I'd love to hear from him - it's more important that he stay healthy and strong.)

I don't know about the rest of you, but the hardest part for me is the little things I miss - like having lunch together or just getting the random call when he needed to chat about the ups and downs of life. I suppose the best consolation I have for these feelings is that fact that I know he's part of something meaningful and lasting and that he is really proud of himself. Of course, I still get blue - - but knowing he's happy with his decision really helps.

I am looking SO forward to October 5th!

@HoosierMama....I agree that not being able to talk to my son is definitely the hardest part. If I could just hear his voice for a few minutes it would be nice. My son said they are getting more writing time and I am looking forward to a letter this week. We are going down the hill now racing for home!!!....Let me know if you need to talk or have questions...I feel like I'm always looking and researching for new info lol....Have a wonderful day

Got a call last night from our SR. Was so good to hear his voice. I hope everyone gets a call soon. Half way through and cant wait to see and hug him on the 5th.

No calls for us yesterday, but no news is good news :)

Last Wednesday, we received 2 letters from our son.  As I was rereading them for the 3rd or 4th time, the phone rang and I was shocked to hear our sons' voice as it was totally unexpected.  He sounded upbeat and his letters were very interesting.  He is with a great group of guys, god bless all of them, and he describes how well they get along and how alike they are.  He makes plenty of fun of the food.  The salad bar is getting old, he had some kind of fish he thought was carp, and the salisbury steak was a "misteak" Ha Ha.  He said to write often and send pictures, which we did along with sending a letter or postcard every day just to keep him current on what is happening.  Looking forward to October 5th like the rest of you, and can't wait for the 29 remaining days to pass.

I hope we get another letter tomorrow. I too write my son everyday and so does his wife. We both have sent him pics. I have sent him some motivational quotes and jokes, apparently they like to share them with each other. I agree, my son is with a great group of young men. He misses his little girl, but being with these guys has helped. I cannot wait to see him and give him a hug...I'm sure I'll have to wait inline behind his wife and daughter lol. Come on October!

Has anyone received a letter today?!! I thought today I would have because of the holiday setting the mail back a day...but my mail box was just bills :/
I did get one today, but my mom did not. Not sure how I got mine, he forgot to put a stamp on it.
Oh really and yet it still made it to you? Ha rare! Well I'm hoping maybe tomorrow I will come home to a letter!!

We didn't get any letters today either...I was sure we would..Maybe tomorrow!

We got a 4 page letter today, which was the third time we received mail.  My husband and I read it 3 or 4 times.  Our SR was again making fun of the food, but he was having a great time.  He did say that they started a swimming contest one time where the winning group would get to make a phone call.  Given our SR was a great swimmer in HS who made states every year, he knew they would win.  Unfortunately one of the guys had an issue and the contest was called off.  He was bummed.  It was filled with funny stories which made us laugh.  He apparently enjoys going to church now way more often than he used to.  They got their white uniforms, official IDs, peacote, and dress blues.  He was thrilled with that.  Hope I am not spoiling news for any others!  He was also laughing about someone being called a clown.  Hope you all get letters too, and maybe luck with another call.
