Hello. I'm the mom of an SR in this division. Anyone on here have children in the same division? This is my second experience with the military. My son is a Marine. My mom and I are planning our trip to Great Lakes and are just looking around on this site for helpful information and tips. So far, we've found a ton of info! You all are the best! Anyway......thanks.

Hi, My son is in the same ship 12 Division296 has he been able to call you...he is now in his 7th week
My son is also Ship 12 DIv 296. We haven't had any phone calls. Anxiously awaiting hearing about BS from him. It's been so long since I heard his voice!
I agree. Has your son written to you. My son keeps saying that he is doing fine but several of the kids have no clue about military life. Therefor they all all have to take the concequences when they dont do well
My son is in Ship 12 Div 296 and like you, no phone call. He said he would call after Battle-stations ended. I am dying for a phone call to hear his voice.
FresnoNavyMom and mhillyard - My son has written a lot of letters. He is in Ship 12 DIV 295 which is joined with DIV 296. He stated that there are several SR that just aren't "getting it". That is the reason we have gotten no phone calls. He wrote, "...when my division as a whole does better. Doesn't matter if I'm doing great, division average decides it." That is what the Navy BC is all about. Getting everyone of them to not see themselves as individuals, but a unit.
Yeah, that's the same thing my son said in his letters. He's written a ton of letters - 5 to me, 5 to his dad, 5 to his grandma.. just no darn call. But that's okay.
He was in the ROTC though out high school, which I think was a good way to get a little prepared for boot camp. At least he already knew about marching, drills, and staying quiet! And, like you said, being part of a unit. I think that's what's been getting them in the most trouble. Some of the guys are having a hard time shaking that off
finally got a call last night from our son in SHIP 12- DIV 295.. typical for our son didn't say to much after not speaking for 7 weeks!!! (lol) which I had something to share with you but seems the division is doing ok...
Want to be very positive for our all of sons and daughters, but need to be practical with dealing with numerous home issues including the care of my elderly mom-- can you clarify if we DO NOT get that "I am sailor" call next week by Wednesday the latest??? we do not go to graduation? Is that the only tool we have to know for sure? When is the next date?
Thanks ...
You got a call!!! I'm happy for you. Jealous tho!
From everything I have read, the calls can come late.. Some may have duty or have to stand watch and might not get that call.. I have talked to moms who got the call on the plane.. I am going to try to remember to ask my SR if everyone passed and who may not get to call so I can inform their mom's.. We are not allowed to post the date on here but if you message me I will let you know what I heard the date is for our group..
Hi daubersmom, just sent you a friend request so I can message you.
Anyone else get a call? Just wondering if they are giving calls as rewards or something. I'm jealous too.
Does anyone know when Ship 12 DIV 295 has their BS? I figure that it's this week, but when?
