My son's bunk mate is the section leader...said he really likes him.  Does that describe anyone's son  (section leader)?  My letter this week was very encouraging.    He said they were preparing for their zone inspection.  He is actually  excited about the firing range.  They are doing that this week.  Boys and guns.  He had been sick, and he says he feels so much better.  He is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  This makes me so happy!  I usually feel a little sad after reading his letter.  Not today!!!! I hope everyone gets an encouraging letter today!

Thanks for the update. It's funny how he stated that he was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, because I was just thinking the same thing. Does anyone know how they did on their inspections last Friday? I'm glad your son is feeling better. I can't image having to complete all their requirements while being ill. My prayers are with them daily.

Hello everyone from ship 13 div 313. How are you hanging in there. I am getting very excited that the special is coming very very soon. We are staying at navy lodge . And going to the meet and greet anyone else going ?
Holding up pretty well here. We are also staying at Navy Lodge. I don't think I'm going to meet & greet though. I just looked at the extended forecast for Chicago weather. Looks like mid seventies during the day and mid fifties at night. Chance of rain 27th - 29th.

Hello Ladies,

Doing well here also, I do wish my SR was writing more, but it is what it is....I know he knows I am thinking of him and I have been sending letters, cards and photos...we are staying at Navy Lodge ...still thinking if we want to stay till Sunday??? I have to get home so that my mother in law can get back in time for work she lives 3 hours from us...and will be staying with my younger son Anthony and the dogs...my husband does not care what we do...he will drive back at 11pm on Sat night with no issues...God love him.

When I spoke with my SR that one time on the phone, he said he does not fly out till Monday, but I am thinking that might change ...so once we know this it will help me know if I am staying till Sunday...

We will be doing a meet and greet, but I have not looked into any of them yet...I will have to look and see what will work for us.

take care ladies.. ((hugs))

We will be staying at the Navy Lodge from Thursday to Monday. We are driving in from Oklahoma and are leaving here late Wednesday night. We wont be going to any meet and greets because we will be meeting up with my brother and sister-in-law who are both in the Army and we havn't seen either of them for quite some time. I am extreamly excited!

Now we are trying to figure out what we are gonna do while we are there...

We will be at Sarge's meet and greet and are staying at Marriot.  We are leaving early Thursday morning and figure it will be a good 7-8 hour drive.  I don't know when my son leaves for Texas.  We have reservations Thurs and Fri.  I think we should extend it to include Saturday as well (just in case).

I am thankful and feel truly blessed that there are strong, dedicated young men and women out there who choose to go through these 9 weeks plus all the training to follow, so that they may serve their country.

We are going to Sarges Meet and Greet. Getting close and the anticipation is huge right now. Was really hoping for a phone call this weekend. Well, still might, weekend's not over! Does anyone know exactly when they hit the gas chamber?

If my calculation is correct on what day they are currently on, gas chamber day should be on 9/18.

Well I just hope it goes by fast cause after watching some videos on this, my heart aches for them. I was in tears for the people on the video I didn't even know.

Does anyone know the day they are supposed to do Battle Stations???

I believe that info is top secret type info. The divisions don't even know. I think they surprise them and wake  them up at around 3 or 3:30 the morning of Battle Stations and they go through the exercises for around 12-13 hours.  It can be anywhere from the Friday before PIR to the very night before, I think. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this, please.
