Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 337 & 338. These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Hey Ladies, I looked up the ASMO as well and was directed to Navy-info.com There were some helpful articles there!
Hugs to everyone!! debbie
Evening all!! I just got a letter from Blake today!! Actually I got the questionnaire & a letter! Questionnaire: All is good, he has bathroom duty, his bunkmate is friendly but will remain nameless as he didn't tell me any names!!! Yelling has stayed the same, but here's the kicker...#12. How is your division working as a team? 4!!! That backs up what some other moms have reported - I sure hope they step it up!! Rest of the questionnaire was nothing exciting except for the fact he said I'm a hoot and more recruits need a mom like me!! :) In his letter he said one person hit another in the groin and was pushed back a week. HE JUST CALLED!!!!!! Sounded so much better than our last call - his spirits seemed so high!!! He said next week is weapons turnover inspection and a test. He is in the "head crew" since his job is in the bathroom. He said he is now eligible for advancement (not sure what that means) and he was issued their coveralls & dress whites. WOO HOO!!!! Great evening at our house!!!
I got a call from my hubby tonight!! It was 11 minutes long, half of which he was crying. He said he just didn't realize how hard it would be to be away from me with no contact for so long. He has bronchitis and had to have his wisdom teeth removed =( So not feeling so hot physically. I tried to make him laugh throughout the phone call like I always do and it seemed to lighten his spirits a bit. He said he has written me like 14 letters (possibly an exaggeration) but I've only received 2 so maybe this week I'll get some more. I'm soo happy I got to take the call. I was so scared I wouldn't be able to, but thanks to a very kind co-worker it all worked out =) Can't wait to read about all of y'alls calls!!!
Yayyy! We got letters today! He sounds much better than his last letters..:) He was having his wisdom teeth out on tuesday and was looking forward to a couple days of rest..He has a job now, weapons petty officer..He sounded very happy about that..He did mention that another recruiter started some sh#*t with him,. not sure what that is all about..I did write to him about some of the moms I have talked to on here and he does know a couple of your boys..He said breakfast is the worse meal of the day..Rubbery bacon and sausage..lol..I think he is finally adjusting! I feel so much better now..One thing that kinda bothered me was he said he wasn't getting mail every day and to get on the ball and send more..We mail 2 or 3 letters, cards, pictures or something everyday! Not sure why he isn't getting it all
Hey Kellee, I'm so happy for you!!! I can't wait to hear his answers to the questionnaire...it should be interesting! Did Nick say if he's one of the SR's with a job? YEA, YEA ,YEA!!! Gotta run to dr appt...take care! debbie
Hello all.....I got a phone #2 from Josh yesterday and since NO letters yet, it was wonderful to hear his voice. He seems happy, likes food, gets only 4 hrs sleep a night, has friends : ) and says there is a lot of down time, not that he can do what he wants but that its boring. He said he is a "stick" which I didnt know was anything, and have researched it and see it means he carries a flag.....or that he is skinny?!?@? He said he mostly chooses sleep to writing, but has written ONE letter. that was yesterday.....
TODAY the 4 page, very small writing letter came..!!!!!! Its MORE than I ever expected and he said so much!
Am I crazy or does just looking at the ENVELOP make you want to cry with pride, thankfulness and missing him? Just seeing the paper with the RTC emblem put me over the edge...BTW if you havent ordered one for your sailor at PIR do it now! Craig shared the link www.nwtmint.com Its truly beautiful and only 10.00 plus shipping
Heres what I learned from Josh
1. They watched him open two letters...one with a puzzle in it from his neice and one with his new drivers license
2. He is writing in the head, like so many others LOL
3. No 8 hrs of sleep due to ironing, folding clothes and 2 hr watches every other night
4. His teeth cleaning was amazing LOL
5. Labor Day was easy and they got TWO entrees for lunch plus pie (which he somehow missed LOL)
6. He got sick and was SIQ for half a day and said they really treat you well..aspirin, robitusson, cough drops when he was followed up he got salt water nasal spray and dandruff shampoo since they noticed his nose and scalp were dry....another LOL
7. He used and shared his Callsforrecruits.org calling cards. He said others he shared with were thrilled and, get this....he said they all said what a cool mom he has!!
8. He shared one of his marching songs....
9. He wished they had more PT time and likes that they push them so that they are covered in sweat
10. As of the writing he hadn't done any "cool stuff" yet like firefighting and SAMT (what is this?)
11. He said they got really cool "code alpha backpacks" Anyone know what this is?
12. He said they have lots of checkpoints...he could even be "hit" if his glasses are dirty
13. MY FAVORITE COMMENT is "I bet you guys will all be surprised at the change RTC has already made on me physically and with how any of us act or carry ourselves".....I am so proud!!
14. Lastly, he encouraged family to write and ask questions
I will post this on BC moms and here, so that anyone can see it.
I would love to hear your stories too.
Nancy
How old is Nick's little sis Kellee?? Nathan's little sister is 7 yrs old and she has mailed him a drawing of the american flag that she colored and she colored the Navy emblem and sent that to him too! I told him if he does find any extra time on Sunday's to write a little note to her thanking her he should.
Kellee- I think they're at such a cute age!! Nate's lil sister's name is Sariah and she turned 7 in March. I hope he does find a little time to write her a little something saying thanks. I'm sure that would make her feel so special!! Little kids rarely (if ever) get postage mail so I think she would think it was neat =)
