I wouldn't wear that to PIR because PIR is a formal ceremony and you should dress accordingly. I suggest business casual or dressy church wear. Save the T-shirt for other times when you are out and about. The design is uh..... interesting. Also, if you were to wear that to PIR, you would most likely be searched since weapons are prohibited on the the RTC.
Oh I am no idiot. I would not conceal or wear my weapon to a federal ceremony facility. Although I do have it at all other times. My sons get a kick out of me being a Glock Toting Momma. And Dont tread on me is also a flag that hangs at our house.
The Snake and the Dont Tread on Me is actually a Navy/Marine Motto/Flag
As far as the ceremony being formal - didnt realize that. But then again I probably wouldnt hesitate on some days to wear this to Church either. LOL But then again Im a farm girl so dresses are not in my wardrobe. LOL
Oh well still want it for the weekend we go up. Whether I wear it or not to the PIR is beside the point.
I'm sure your Sailors will get a kick out of that. I figured that you would not be carrying, but when you advertise something like that, it is very possible that you would be searched in any facility where weapons are prohibited (Military installations, state or federal facilities, airports, schools...) and may be asked to cover the shirt.
Consider what you will look like in pictures. They will both most likely be in their dress blues (change over is typically the first week of October and the first week of May). Nice dark jeans, slacks or khakis and a nice top, blouse or sweater will look nice next to your Sailor. Wear comfortable shoes since you will be standing and walking quite a bit.
THank you. My one son who has not left yet loves it. :-)
