I know I'm not a mom, but my fiance and love of my life has been in bootcamp for since the 5th and I still havent received a form letter. I know it will be coming to me because he doesnt have a very good relationship with his family. I was wondering if anyone else has NOT received their form letter yet? I talked to his recruiter today who told me he knew as much as me as far as div/ship, PIR date and address. He also told me that no one receives a form letter until around 3 weeks BEFORE our recruits graduates, which did not convince me of his brilliance due to the fact that I have spoken to SEVERAL people who already have their letters. Does what day they arrive affect what day they can send their letters? Any input would be appreciated, as I am going absolutely insane down here in Tx waiting on this stupid letter.

Hey. I'm sorry you haven't received the form letter yet. Based on when I got my sons I would think you should get it this coming week. Some people get it earlier but in my sons division that did not happen. It was a good 2 weeks. My son got there on the 21st of august which was a tues. I got the letter 2 weeks from the 23rd of August. I know this probably don't help a lot. But I would expect you should get it by the end of this week.

Thank you! I will continue to hold out some hope...

Your welcome! Don't give up, it will come. Have you checked with any family members to make sure they didn't get it, I know you said they are not close but just out of curiosity ?

My son left on 9/6 and I got it exactly a week later...however I know of a mom who is still waiting for hers and has not gotten it and her son left about the same time.  However most have gotten them already....I know some of the divisions who are graduating 11/2 have not gotten to write letters yet including my sons which is div 358....are you on the PIR 11/2 FB page, if not you should join us...

How can I be sure his PIR is 11/2? I had heard something about 11/9 at one point but I've also heard 11/2...how do I know which one it is?

If he went on 9/5 he is most likely graduating 11/2!!  There are some that didn't go til I think the 11th that are graduating 11/2..and his recruiter by now should have his division and address for you...it's a shame that he isn't being helpful...I am going to get you the link to the FB page, please come join us...we really support each other and laugh!!  Be right back...

https://www.facebook.com/groups/PIR11.2/   here it is...what's your first name so I will know when you join?

My name is Sarah. I'll join when I get home from work tonight. Thank you!

Your welcome!!

If you don't get it in the next week, try getting in touch with his family even though they aren't on the best of terms.  Who knows, he may have sent it there and thought they would tell you.  Your fiance left the week before my SR (TX) and we received our letter 8 days later.  However, I have heard of some having to wait for 3 weeks before getting the letter because of the delay in the division forming.  The recruiter should be of more help.  After all, you are only asking for ship/div and they have that info on the computer.  Granted, the mailing address can change depending unforeseen circumstances.  Still, I would try getting in touch with his folks just to eliminate that possibility.

Thanks, I sincerely doubt he sent it to his family since they dont really speak but I guess you never know. I am comforted by the fact there is someone else out there that had to wait awhile. The recruiter was NO help at all and I'm pretty sure the only information he gave me was false. He told me he didnt know anything -_- LAME!

I received my son's form letter within two weeks after he arrived at boot camp. The form letter gives you the address to write him as well as information regarding PIR. The recruiter did not give you accurate information. I think he has it backwards - you should receive the letter within three weeks of the beginning of boot camp (my opinion).
