I know I'm not a mom, but my fiance and love of my life has been in bootcamp for since the 5th and I still havent received a form letter. I know it will be coming to me because he doesnt have a very good relationship with his family. I was wondering if anyone else has NOT received their form letter yet? I talked to his recruiter today who told me he knew as much as me as far as div/ship, PIR date and address. He also told me that no one receives a form letter until around 3 weeks BEFORE our recruits graduates, which did not convince me of his brilliance due to the fact that I have spoken to SEVERAL people who already have their letters. Does what day they arrive affect what day they can send their letters? Any input would be appreciated, as I am going absolutely insane down here in Tx waiting on this stupid letter.

Jesse's Girl - Come and join us on FB http://www.facebook.com/groups/40865546374/  There is a member called "Recruit Man", he may be able to help you.

Jesse's Girl, it sometimes takes a long as 3 weeks to receive the form letter, although most receive it in less than 2 weeks. If you receive a "real" letter without receiving the form letter, write to your SR and ask that one be sent, or at least for the password that you will need to get the vehicle pass if you are driving a vehicle onto the RTC.  Sometimes if a recruit is in a "push" division and was one of the last to fill the division, they get so busy getting them through P-days and in the division that they forget to have them send the form letter.  Form letters are mailed once the recruits get to their ship.  Did you receive "the box"?

Some recruiters will look up the info and some don't seem to know how to do it and some will only share the info with those who are listed in the recruit's file--it would have been nice if he would have said, "I'm sorry I cannot share that info with you" rather than giving you the run-around.  Your SR most likely will have PIR 11/02/2012, but if he is in a push division and was one of the last to fill his division, then PIR would be 10/26/2012--that is more likely to happen for those arriving on a Monday or Tuesday though.  You won't know his PIR date for sure until you get the form letter or you somehow get confirmation of his division number either from the recruiter or in a lettter from him.  If you get the division number from the recruiter, we can help you get the ship number that you need to get the address.

Thank you very much, I'll try squeezing the info out of him tomorrow. I did receive my "boy in a box" on the 11th.

Hopefully, the form letter will arrive this week.  I doubt you will get anything from the recruiter on Sunday.

true that... and lets hope so! I'm going absolutely crazy.

That's great!  I'm sure the letter is just delayed either because he is in a push division or because his division was delayed in forming.  Hang in there and keep us posted.

My SR said in the letter he sent me last week that he had sent out the form letter, but i still haven't received it :(.  So everyday when i write him i'm putting in the letter, still no form letter, please resend, or at least send me the gate code.  STill have time but as the days pass and we can only rely on snail mail just want to make sure i have the gate code to get the gate pass.
