Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 365 & 366.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thanks FTLW!!!

HooYah! Now we can all share information about letters, phone calls, etc. look forward to meeting in person at PIR.

Karen, what rate is your SR?  Where is there A school?  Mine is gonna stay in GL.  I am really holding on to the no news is good news theory.

Hi Everyone!

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much FLTW for making our division groups.  I am happy to know who my SR gets to be hanging and working out with.  LOL I am sure the hanging out part will come much later.  Has anybody read FLTW's bootcamp questionaire?  I will be sending this to my son most definitely.  It is super funny.

1proudmomma My SR is NUKE A school will be in South Carolina for six months, then nuke also in South carolina for six months then another six months either in New York State or South carolina, then if he gets subs like he wants he will go to Conneticut for however long that school is, he has a six year enlistment

Hey Karen,

My SR is going to be an FC.  He will stay in GL for A school and then his C school could be San Diego or VA I believe.  He is a 6 year enlistment also.

karens My SR is also a NUKE and will be going to South Carolina too. However, he is not going on a sub. Where are you from? I am from South Dakota. It's nice to be able to connect with someone whose son is in the same position as my own. I can't wait to see him again. I look forward to hearing more from you. Have a great day!

cy4ty, we are from Pennsylvania.  What division is your SR in? I hear NUKE school is the hardest, but will be so glad to have fairly normal contact once he is in SC.  I can't wait until PIR. How is your SR doing, mine said that he was well but sounded a little homesick, which is to be expected.

Good Morning Ladies, so glad to see that a few have found this group. When my son went to bc in July this site was a life saver and I got to meet a great group of moms. While I'm not on here for my own son, Luke has been part of my family since my son and he were in second grade. I'm here to support him and look forward to getting to know all of you. I also have just gone through the bootcamp experience with my son so it is still fresh in my mind. Letters should start coming in this week so hopefully you will all get them soon. Just remember that a lot of those first letters are depressing because for most of your kids this is the first time they are away from home or out of contact with everyone in their lives. On top of that while all the other divisions were getting letters, my son's division didn't get to write that first week so we weren't getting any letters. My son said he missed us, his bed and his life.  I felt horrible but by the second letter he was feeling better and by the end of bc he was is really high spirits and glad he enlisted. Count the Fridays instead of the days, it does seem shorter. It won't be long until you are hugging your SR and believe me it is the greatest feeling in the world!!

Thank you Jodi, for your words of wisdom.  I got my first letter from my son on Thursday and just as you said it was depressing.  I know that he is mentally fine but he doesn't like it and wants to come home and won't be reenlisting and is horrified that the RDC's told them they were obviously not raised correctly.  He does not want anyone talking trash about his mom and dad.  LOL   I know they tear them down to build them back up and I feel like I was prepared but it still gave me a sleepless night.  Looking forward to a better letter this week.  Julie

Julie, I'm sure that by the next letter things will be much better. I just talked to my son, whose in Pensacola, and I asked him again if he was glad he enlisted. He told me "YES". I remember telling my son to not let what the RDC's say get to him. It's their job to make his life miserable for 8 weeks. Luke-he's in your son's division- is much more easy going  but I told him the same thing. I got a letter from Luke on Thursday and he sounded happy except for worrying about his sit ups. I hope you get a more positive letter next Thursday. Take care.
