While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My Daughter left today Sept 25th and still no phone call!
I am just waiting for more info while I go to sleep with my phone. I am wondering when her PIR date will be with the Thanksgiving Holiday approaching during graduation time. I am worried about my daughter even though she is one smart, tough cookie she was in a car accident last Wednesday rolled & totaled her car & phone. We were afraid she would not be cleared to leave but she was cleared Thank God but I hope she is doing good.

Her PIR could be as early as the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This is all determined by how soon her division forms. Sometimes they are held until the division fills which sometimes adds a week. If she arrives at a time when a division is almost full and needs a few more folks, then she could be placed in a push division which would put her PIR a week sooner. When you receive your form letter in about a week or so, it will have her ship/division and PIR date. The letter usually follows a day or two behind the box. However, sometimes the letter can take a little longer. Not all SRs have the opportunity to call from GL. If she has her cell phone with her, she will have a better chance. If not, her ability to call will be dependent on whether or not she can get to a phone, as so many others will be calling, or as to whether or not the RDC permits it. Hang tight, you are in for a roller coaster ride of emotions. Welcome aboard!

My son left from Boston on Tuesday. He had to spend 4+ hours in the airport waiting for his flight to depart. I was able to talk with him when he landed in Chicago, he had his cell phone with him. He sounded tired and excited. He was going with a group of fellow sailors to get a last fast food meal from McDonalds. I received the official "I'm here" call at 11pm last night. Can't wait until I get his mailing address so I can write to him.

My son left yesterday too....and here it is, today...7:30am...and still no phone call. I slept holding my phone all night long. I'm glad your daughter is ok, after that accident! whew!

Still no call she did not bring her cell her recruiter told her not to ughhh Plus her phone was destroyed in the accident she would have had to borrow her sisters.

I know I slept with my phone like a newborn baby haha ok well I am glad to know I am not the only one to get a call. Thank You I am glad she is ok we had a scare for sure

My son left yesterday and he called me from the airport around 10pm to let me know he had made it to Chicago. He didn't take his cell phone with him but I am assuming he used someone else's because it had a 717 area code. I looked the area code up and it was from Pennsylvania. When I spoke to him he said he hadn't made it to RTC yet and the reason he was calling was that he wasn't sure what was going to happen once he got there. I told him I don't care what time it is if you get a chance to call , call me. I slept with my phone too!

My son left yesterday also. He was with a group of 5 other kids. We stayed with are son until he left the airport around 4:15. I got a phone call at 10:55 from his cell phone saying he had arrived at boot camp. The conversation was way to short, I wasn't able to ask any questions. He just said there yelling at everyone to hurry up with there calls.. I miss him already. I am so nervous, but excited for him also. Hes a pretty mellow kid so the yelling shouldn't bother him I hope. As long as he focuses on what he needs to accomplish so he can get through the toughest 1st two weeks.

I agree,I wrote my daughter her first letter today, so i can start sending them as soon as i get her address..thinking uf ways to keep her focused and encouraged
