Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I just received my daughters formal letter, she shipped out on Sept 18, 2012. She is ship-11 Div-006 is there anyone who's child or spouse is the same? I would love to find someone who has a child on the same ship and div.

Join the group, PIR 11/16/2012 TG 01 (clickable link), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. Know that Divisions 005 and 006 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. There will be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

I got my official form letter today and my son left 9-18 and is Ship 11/DIV 006 as well. I write everyday. There are a few of us already with the same ship on the 11-16 PIR group. I am here if you want to talk. What job is your daughter going as? My son is MA-master at arms.

Joshuasmom, Thank you so much, Stephanie is a airman launch and recovery, she will be on a aircraft carrier. Has it been hard for you? It was not so hard the first few days but after the first week it is killing me, I am better now that I have more info on her and watched several videos of boot camp. I hope we can meet at graduation, what is your sons full name and I can ask Steph in a letter is she knows him.

There is a "Break down week by week" discussion that will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). You will also want to join MAA Moms. Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active) and Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well).(Group names in this reply are clickable links.)

You might want to add the PIR Date to your discussion title so people can see it quickly and then join your discussion if they have the same date. Just a thought.

Oh yes ma'am I wouldn't miss it for the world!!! 20 years ago my son attended my brothers PIR while I was preggo with him so I have experienced the awesomeness of the ceremony!!! I can't wait it is only 3 more weeks! I didn't receive a letter but I am waiting on the call! How about you are you going to be able to make the trip?
