Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 371 & 372.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hey NickCmom,  don't feel bad, I didn't get a letter today either.  As soon as I saw the mail run, I ran to the mailbox and nothing.  I know how you feel.  Hopefully get something tomorrow.  My son is Raven Foley.  Let me know what your son's name is and I will mention him also.  I am hoping he's finding some good friends in there.  He's a quiet one, but a good son.  Hopefully this will help him.

Hopefully, both of you will receive a letter tomorrow.  I know the waiting is horrible.  However, now that I have a letter, I just keep thinking that hes not really ok.  Ya know?  I mean he said, "Im alive" really?? How do I take that?  and he says it just seems like 1 big day, kinda with no break... is that what it means? I don't know... I just hope things get easier for them.  My son is very athletic and well built.  He works out for hours a day.  So if its hard on him, must be really hard.

Got our first letters today!!  OMG I am so glad to finally hear that all is ok!  He said to keep the mail coming...food is good, wearing boots for 14 hours a day sucks, bunk is hard, no wisdom teeth pulling for him!

Sherri

Sherri B I am so excited for you.  I can't wait to receive a letter from my son.  He is in the same division as yours.  Once I know he is ok I feel like I could relax some......  Thanks for sharing your son's news.

mollycat send me a friend request so I can ask you more questions privately....My son returned the questionare that I sent to him and he mentioned some names of other boys he is friends with...What is your son doing after Bootcamp?

My son is in ship 12, div 372. I think he is staying in Gl. I will friend request you. I think you are the first one to get a letter in our group.

Thank Heavens!! We got our letter from our son yesterday.  DIV 371.  He said he was just fine and that his biggest fear was put to rest..."the food was great"!!  He sounded like he was just fine and keeping busy.  Didn't complain about anything else, so I know he's doing good.  He can pretty much adapt to anything.  He already sounded so grown up.  Can't wait for PIR, which by the way will be on his 19th birthday.  How cool is that!!  He said he should be able to call next week.  I hope so.  Good luck to all the other moms.  We feel so much better now.

that's wonderful!!  I am still waiting on my letter.  I hope the little snot is just not writing to make a point...he told me to "cut the cord" before he left  LOL.

I hope they get to call this week!! PIR is 2 days before MY son's 20th birthday!!
Did you see the pics that were posted on the facebook sight? Someone said that the ones in the pics are the instructors. If that's the case, there are a lot of instructors. I was trying to see if I could see my son, but, not in any of those.
GLad you got your letter. I miss my son so much, just want to hear his voice. Hopefully, they can write home again today and he's received all the letters I already sent him!!
33 MORE DAYS!!
are they pulling their wisdom teeth? Even if they don't need it?

I don't think they pull everyones. They do an exam and make the decision whether they need to come out or not. We had talked about it prior to my son leaving and after discussing it with his dentist, the xrays didn't show they were coming in anytime soon or were in a bad position so we decided to just wait and see and if that changed once he got in there, then he would get them out there. Luckily he will not have to have any of them out.

My son is division 372 also. He will be going on to Core Men Training, In Texas I believe.
