Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 001 & 002.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Woo hooo another mommy in our little group here. Have you heard from her yet?

That is where my son is!

welcome Julstim!!!

Thank you! We live in Ohio and got letters on Thursday. They were dated from 9-22 and also 9-30. I hope today is another writing day and Thursday the mailman will deliver more to us!  She said the division is very talkative and struggling with what being a TEAM means. Pretty decent letter: she misses our water! :)

Mike'smom,

My son was also in band so he should be used to that also.He was in the percussion and played the whole line for many years and loved it. They have a competion tonight and was going to go, but they don't perform until 9:00 and said no it's too cold out.  I quess I am too chicken now to sit out there if I don't have to.

I hope you are having a good weekend.

Future Doc's Mom - same here (only my son played the Tuba)! I guess once a "band mom" always a "band mom"!  I guess we'll have to add the tag line "Navy Mom" to our resumes!  I hope they're helping those SRs who don't have any experience with marching and such.

Future Doc's mom and Mike's mom~ My son was in band 6th grade-12th grade and he was Drum Line Captain 10th, 11th and 12th grade... He/We loved every minute of it!! and Yes I still consider myself a band mom! I took pictures of "our" HS band last week and sent them to him, he always wants to see and hear how they are doing.. He started the drum line his freshman year, so it's his baby.. :)

I received my SR's 1st letter on Thursday. It was so good to hear from him. He's adapting we'll, misses home and his big toes are numb from the steel toe boots they were. I can't wait to get his 1st phone call. I just booked my 3 night stay at the Ramada Inn in Waukegan. Anyone else staying there?

I was sooo hoping for a call today, but no. I hope his division is learning to work as a team, and that their calling privileges have not been suspended.  Best I can hope for is a letter to arrive on Tues. or Wed.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Mike'sMom, I too did not receive a call.  My letter did come on Friday like I had hoped.  The letter was some what informative but still a sober...not very informative.  Or what I would call informative.  I really don't know what to think or what he is thinking.  So, I am looking forward to my letter this Thursday.  Hoping very much for a call and letter.  But will be happy with the letters.

Hi!

My daughter is in ship 09 div 002. I got my call from her on the 11th! That also happened to be her birthday. I prayed for that to happen so I was so excited it did! She cried a lot. Homesick...Not that things were bad there. She said she was still happy with her choice to join the Navy. I felt better hearing from her. I hope you got your call by now! Bless our children!

Hello ladies,

I received my second letter today from my SR. He sounded a little down, but he said he was coping. I hope things get better for him and anyone else feeling down and  missing home. Take care everyone.
