For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Would I be somewhat correct in assuming that on 11/16 - after PIR/graduation - we should be able to visit with her? I'd like to think they would get a few hours off to spend with family. Then, perhaps on Saturday she would leave for Florida? I am assuming that soon - we should hear from her and get some more details. Thanks for walking me through some of this!

On the day of PIR, your Sailor will have Liberty from about 10:30 am when Liberty is called until sometime in the evening (usually around 8 to 9 pm) and she will need to be back at the RTC about a half hour before Liberty expires to be certain to get back to the ship on time. If she has watch during the day, you will have to get her back for that.
Only your Sailor will know her flight arrangements for certain. Send her an index card about a week before PIR so she can write down her flight details to give to you to let you know what airport she will fly out of and when and when she will get to the airport so you can meet her at the airport and spend time with her before her flight and give her her cell phone, laptop, and other things that will fit in her black backpack. (Several sets of favorite undies are wanted by most since the guys are ready to get out of the "tighty whities" and the gals are tired of their "granny panties" by this time.) Plan to arrive at GL on Thursday and go to Sarge's Meet and Greet (PIR 11/16/2012 SARGE'S MEET AND GREET) that evening and maybe part of the PIR 11/16/2012 Ramada Meet and Greet and plan to leave late Saturday or on Sunday to give you the most time with your Sailor.

Smith1329-My son is on Ship 14, div007, his PIR is also on 11-16-12. I am counting down the days. His girlfriend received 2 letters today, praying mine is in the mailbox at home. I of course started crying again, when she read her letters to me. It really made me miss him more and I would do anything to give him a big hug right now. But he is doing well and has alot of new friends. I hope your daughter is doing well.
