OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I am so happy for you guys who got letters. still nothing here but now I know they are on there way. Thanks for sharing all your info it makes me feel like I have a little something to hold onto. I think my mail man is afraid of me!! lol

Well not letter for me but his girl friend did get one. He told her to tell me he was sorry that he only got to write one letter and that he would write me next week. (perhaps he ran out of time because several of you recieved multiple letters). He said it was hard. He said that he gets yelled at alot! but he said he is okay. He mentioned that he thinks he is in the Honor Guard. He said that they were hand pick from hundreds of recruits and he appeared to be pretty proud of that. He also said that this division was ahead of the other divisions I don't really know if this is true or not something about because they need extra time to pratice for graduation.
well thats about all I know oh yeah he said that he is making friends and that one of the SR's came in and told him that we are facebook friends lol
Navy hugs and I hope that you all get letters this weekend or phone calls. Please share if you here from your SR we are all starving to know the littlest things about our SR's.
and pray for them all to find the inner strenght they need.

Awww I am sorry Lorie you didn't get a letter. I am glad at the time Shane left he didn't have a girlfriend or I would most likely be getting the same phone call that he didn't have time to write everyone!! I know he loves and misses you so much too. They are really getting busy now and don't have any free time and they can only write on Sunday's. I am sure you will get a letter next week. Hang in there MoMMa. I know my son leaving was one of the hardest things that I have ever done and I am so glad to have all of you to talk to. If you ever feel down feel free to email me and we will talk <3

thanks Momma Marjean I just know he is having a tough time says he gets yelled at a lot. I just want him to do good. He has struggled his whole life and he really thought he would have a chance to make something of himself in the Navy. Its kinda like his last straw in his eyes. So I know it is heart wrenching for him not to do well. I am praying for renewed strength. I am praying that he gets it soon. I hear other moms saying how well there SR's are doing and how its really not hard and it makes my heart break because I know he is struggling for some reason. Don't get me wrong I am happy for the others it just well I don't know. I just hope he writes me soon. I really wish he had not done this.
I feel like a failue if I was able to help him more growing up he would not have joined the Navy. I guess thats the bottom line.

So happy. We finally got a letter yesterday. He says it is not too bad. He misses home really bad. We were so relieved to finally hear from him. His sister got one too. I have four children. It was hardest for Rachel for him to leave because they are very close. So she was really glad to get one too.
He said they get mail every night Mon. thru Fri. They can only send mail out on Sundays.

I got 3 letters from Zach on Fri, he had passed his swimming test and the rest of his testing (didn't say which ones) but he was very homesick and felt like he didn't fit in and didn't belong there. He really wants to come home. Sigh...
We are bombingh him with cards and letters hoping to encourge him to keep going after boot camp will be so much better!

901 phone calls are coming in!! I got a phone call from Zach around 5:30 talked for about 30 mins.
He is good, sounded tired, and homesick wanted pictures, stamps, and labels do he didn't have to write address! Ha
Said he had passed PT, swimming and some written test. They were on 3 week.
Said it was easy if you just shut up and listen and do what your told and listen to orders.
Food is good, same old stuff every meal. Better then high school food! Ha
So looking forward to PIR, he will have all weekend since he is staying for A-School at Great Lakes!

I feel like I'm falling apart -- our son had to move to another division-- we don't know why- we got a 45 second phone call telling us to cancel our plane tickets, and he'd write. It's been over 4 weeks and we've had one letter a week ago saying things were ok. -- I hate the Navy.

I hope everything is ok with your son. It's so hard being a parent away from our kids and not knowing what the hell is going on with them! A lot of people got phone calls from their kids I have yet to get one from my son and it is making me crazy. Did he tell you what div. he got moved to? Try not to make yourself sick over the worry just wait and see if you get to hear from him again soon. I know thats easy for me to say, believe me I would be freakin out too if I was in your shoes. Take care and please let me know what happens with your son.
