Enjoy him while you can!! Don't spend the time he has left "missing" him already, make sure you spend as much time together as you can, don't start any insignificant fights. Take time to ask him how he feels, and ask him how you can show your support to him while he's away. Also a word of warning: the first week to 2 weeks he's gone SUCKS, but talk to us on here, we've been through it! (or we're going through it right now, like me, my boyfriend of 3 years left 2 weeks ago)

I definitely don't do fights.
For the past couple weeks anytime I feel myself getting mad, or irritated I just remember that he is leaving soon and that I'd rather enjoy my time with him bow than focus on being upset.
And thank you for the warning. I will for sure be keeping myself as busy as possible those first 2 weeks :)
Sarah- Enjoy the little things before he leaves. My husband has almost been gone 4 weeks at RTC. It has defiantly been hard, but it has already brought us closer. Write writw write!:-) That and waiting on the mail man are what get me through the day. Just look at everyday as one day closer....the end result will be worth every worry and tear! Its just 8 weeks:-) good luck! I am here if you ever need to talk! We are all in this together! I will say a prayee for you and yoyr SR!!!
Thank you Brittany:)
I really appreciate the words of advice. And hope the last part of Rtc flys by for you :)

Hello, Sarah! I remember the weeks leading up to my fiance's ship date, and how reality kept hitting both of us in the chest - he was leaving, and there was nothing we could do about it. My advice for the next thirty days is to enjoy your recruit as much you can! Spend as much time with him as possible, and be sure you both know just how much you care about each other. My fiance and I were practically inseparable before he left, aside from when I had to work, and I don't regret one second of the time we spent together!

Also, DEFINITELY go to his swearing in, and go with him to the airport if you can! I was debating whether or not to go, but I was so glad I did. Not only was I so proud of him, but the time we spent in the airport before he left was invaluable.

That's how it feels for us. Everything will be like normal then it hits us that he is leaving and he gets super lovey:)
And we try to spend as much time together as possible but his brother has been in town the last 2 weeks(just got back from Afghanistan. He is in the army) so naturally I haven't seen aalot of my sailor.
Which makes him leaving in a month a lot harder. But its like some of the girls have said, I should focus on the fact that he is here now :)

And i am definitely going to his swearing in. I wanna spend as much time with him as possible, even if it is just watching him :)

When did your sailor leave?

Ah, I remember that - my fiance would get so clingy when the idea of him leaving came up. And at the airport? Boy, he couldn't help himself from having his arms wrapped around me! I sure didn't mind, though. I was the same way. Kept touching him, on the arm or neck or shoulder, just because I still could.

That's great that your recruit gets to see his brother before he leaves for the military himself! Him leaving will be hard no matter what, and it's good you have the right attitude - you can only live in the moment! Although, I have to say, since my fiance has left, I tend to focus on the future, of when we will be together again :)

I thought that would be my experience at the swearing in, just watching. But by getting there an hour early, I had that extra sixty minutes with my fiance, which we spent just kind of holding each other. After he was officially sworn in, he had to wait another hour and a half to leave for the airport, and then his flight didn't leave for another four hours! Like I said, invaluable time. If things go for your recruit as they did for mine, you'll have a lot of good time with him - never enough, but every bit counts!

My fiance left the 26th of September. It's been seventeen days...and they definitely have not been easy.

My hubby prerecored videos for me to watch while he was gone. One for each week. Such a wonderful surprise and they helped a ton! Also, we made a bucket list and tried to do everything on his list before we had to leave home for who knew how long. Just enjoy the time you have!!
That is so sweet of him.<3
And we are trying to enjoy our time now.
But the past few days it seems like all the stress is making him irritable
That's understandable. Just be patient with each other. :)
