I understand that it is an early event and we need to be there super early.  I am arriving in Midway and renting (I hope) a car -- I have no problem getting to the hotel but will the next day, in the dark, driving in the middle of nowhere.  It would be nice if we could caravan.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris'mom

Hello,

What city is the La Quinta. We are staying at Comfort Inn in Waukegan (not sure of the spelling). It is north of base

LA QUINTA INN CHICAGO GURNEE
5688 NORTHRIDGE DRIVE

GURNEE, IL 60031

They also gave me a Navy discount - I this town is south, but a straight shot from Midway airport (I think)

I just changed my hotel reservation for the Red Carpet Inn down the street from the base.  They even offer a shuttle.  I hope it's clean and safe :-)

Chris'mom

LOL. Your last sentence made me chuckle.....I am always saying the same thing as you did..First thing I check out is the sheets then I move into the bathroom.  I hate dirt and filth..lol. We will probably drive to the PIR date, only because my husband doesn't like others to drive..Are you going to any of the Meet and Greets?

I told my husband about them and another friend of mine saw her SR graduate last year and the went to them and said it was fun.

I changed reservations again, now staying at the Residence Inn -- the Red Carpet has cockroaches, bedbugs, and musty smell.  I definitely need to follow someone now.  I would love to go to one of the Meet & Greets but haven't looked into it yet.

Chris'mom

Hi Chris' mom  i'm going to the meet and greet at Flannigans. Not sure of what hotel we are staying at. We are staying at the Residence inn Chicago/ Waukegan. So maybe we can follow each other.

If that is the Residence Inn (Marriott) just north of the base (maybe 5 miles), that's where I am staying.

Definitely will follow you.

Thank you,

Chris'mom

Chris, I am also staying at the Residence INN, going to Sarges Meet & Greet maybe we can have a caravan!

Thank you - I'll let the front desk know to contact me to let me know particulars (time, etc).  Thank you so much.

Hi - I am now beginning to plan my trip for next week.  It seems like I will be alone as far as family & friends; however, I'm waiting to hear from a close friend who lives in Chicago.  She may be able to attend.  I am still working on my hotel; which hotel are you staying in i.e., address?  I see you changed it since your original post.  I can't make any o fthe Meet & Greets because my flight doesn't get in until late Thursday night.

I changed my reservation to Residence Inn, just north of the base and the only Residence (Marriott) in the area.  So, now I am about 5 miles (I think) away.  I just hope I can follow someone to the base since I am not good with directions and definitely not an experience winter driver - snow and ice - ugh!

Chris'mom

Chris, I am also staying at Residence inn, I have to leave by 6 am as I have to pick up someone else who is coming to see their loved one graduate but does not have a ride to PIR, I have to pick her up at the Navy Lodge, you are more than welcome to follow me if you'd like.
