Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son leaves Oct. 23, 2012......
Hi All - my son leaves 10/23/12 for boot camp! It seems like it has been forever since he signed his contract on 1/26/12, but now it's October and I can't believe we only have 22 days left with him. Trying to get everything wrapped up and spend some nice family time together.

My son, daughter, and I went on a road trip this past weekend. I gotta say this really helped me get better prepared for what is coming next week. By getting away from everything, I got a chance to talk to my future sailor and make some fun memories. I'm hoping that I'll be able to remain strong in front of my young man and save the tears until after he is gone.
Hang in there Mom's! It's gonna be a tough week with emotions all over the place!

Hi all. Been lurking a long time, but now that Oct 23rd is almost here, thought I should join. Son was originally scheduled to leave Oct 30th, but that got moved up a couple of weeks ago. This last month has flown by! So excited for all the recruits.

thanks B'snukemom! I am hoping the weather will cooperate for PIR. Plane tickets are not within our budget, so we will be driving. We are use to snow, so no worries about driving in it. Just worry about road closures! Looking forward to chatting with everyone the next couple of months. :)

So nice to hear I wasn't the only one "lurking!" This site has offered so much information that I didn't feel a need to ask any more questions. Now that my son is leaving tomorrow I am feeling a little more anxious about everything. He was supposed to leave 10/30 as well and got moved up. We're not sure about travel in December either because we live in a snow belt area too... Keeping my fingers crossed for a mild winter!!!

My son is leaving on the 25th (his birthday). This is my 2nd time around. My oldest son has been in for three years and is currently deployed. I thought it would be easier with the second one, but believe me....it didn't get any easier. I look forward to talking to all of you for the next several months.

Final alone time with my soon to be sailor recruit this morning. Sad and yet fun. We went to find him a phone card and favorite Bible to take along and then I took him Christmas shopping. He's been so sweet trying to make sure that he gets just the right present for everyone. Just so proud of my boy!!! He's gonna be such a good sailor and such a fine young man!!!

How sweet! What a great idea about Christmas shopping! I am impressed with the young men and women who make such a commitment in today's world, they have strong character. We've been making the most of our time with our son and it has been wonderful. I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he said "family." I wonder if they will ever understand how proud they make us??? Good luck to you and your son.
