Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Baby names

For all the moms out there, I've been thinking about baby boy names lately. I just feel like regardless of what name I may like now, I won't really know what I want to call my son till I see him.

So far I like:

Ezra

Nathaniel- kind of be half my fiance's name ( it'd be cute to call him Nate)

I like Matthew and of course Jeremiah is my favorite passage in the bible.

How did some of the moms on here come up with their children's names? Was it before or after birth? Did you let your Sailor take part in the naming?
(My fiance is coming up with horrible names so I'm pretty sure he is out, I will not let my child be called Dayton lol sounds to much like Daytona)

I don't have any children yet, but I am almost positive that when I do I will have a name picked out before the baby is born. My boyfriend also likes horrible names so he will probably not have a say.

lol yeah I mean out of all the good names out there he picks that. I'm also Nigerian so I do want to take into effect all of the cultural names as well. It's hard, I want my child to be able to be as unique as possible. A name is a lifetime well nowadays kids can change it but oh well.

My husband picked out our daughters name before she was born but we didn't tell anyone until she here. He picked out her first and middle names.

My husband and i made a deal. If it was a girl, i picked the first name and he picked the middle and vise versa if it was a boy. For the next one, we switch. It was a girl, so i picked Katelynn and he picked Louise for the middle name. He was starting to freak me out a little, coming up with Olga and Helga to "honor his Swedish ancestry". But it sounds nice and she won't be afraid to tell anyone her middle name.
