For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

yes, my son, is leaving on the 6th. the ship date says the 6th. but he i leaving this morning to meps, we want to see him swear in. do you know if this is today, or will be on the 6th in am?
Hi Jenny, my son is leaving for Bootcamp tommorrow too. Just dropped him off at recruiter and then they are off to hotel and then they will arrive at meps in a.m. They will swear in depending upon the time they are leaving. Then off to the airport to pick up other future sailors... I just went thru it Sept. 25 with my oldest son.I hope you are holding up pretty good. hope the info helps. And God Bless you and Hubby...
So Thankful I was able to drive my son to San Diego, then we checked him into hotel, spent the day with him than met him at Meps in the am, swear in was at 10:00. then he had luch, we were able to stay with with him until they loaded up for the airport.
Yes, my son also left today, Nov. 6. I'm carrying a phone around the house with me waiting for his "I'm here safe and sound," call.
My son just called. He's at Boot Camp safe and sound. We talked a whopping 53 seconds! lol
Hi Davesmom what Meps did your son go to? Maybe i saw you today. We dropped my son off too.
My son just called too. Did good all day until that call. Tears won't stop falling. Hope you are good.
Hi timekarich. We were at Minneapolis MEPS. Is that where you were? I feel kinda bad because my tears just won't come. I think I'm still numb. I bet they will catch up with me when I least expect them. Imagine the next phone call! Hang in there.

P.S. My son finished his 5 year commitment to the Navy and is now a civilian. I survived because of the support I found on this site and I have met some amazing women and men. Fair winds and following seas.
Yep. My boyfriend let nov. 6th for boot camp as well.
My boyfriend also left in the morning on Nov 6. so proud of him and miss him like crazy. Can you guys post when you get your form letter? It would be neat to see who might be together for the next 8 weeks. Hope all of you are doing well. I keep having my ups and downs, but pushing through!
yes i will def. post when i get his form letter. Well his parents will be receiving it but i told them to contact me once they get it..I hope its very soon!
