For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Left today!
My son just left today from St. Louis. WOW! I had most of my meltdown yesterday but when I looked over at his brother, who is SOOO stoic and rarely shows a great deal of emotion, breaking down it really broke my heart. So proud of this choice he's made and his job will be so great! But I am definitely on a roller coaster this afternoon. Any moms out there whose son or daughter left today with mine? I know 8 weeks will go really fast, but it's the not talking and not knowing that may do me in!

Its training for us too? LOL Hang in there and keep your head up and BUSY. It will go by quickly. Write LOTS of letters, and when you think you've written a bunch, WRITE some more.

Just putting this out there for all of you when the time comes to go to PIR.... Yes it will happen, although you might not think so at the moment.....SARGE is the best contact and help in the world!! His M&G is amazing and his taxi/shuttle whatever you need....he is there.... We had PIR 11.2.12 He made everything so EASY.... wonderful man....

Cag911, my son is also not looking forward to the wisdom teeth extraction! Waiting in my call. Hopefully in a couple if hours now. Left here at 1 by bus. I think I'm okay and the crying comes from nowhere. I know we'll all be fine. Growing up is hard for everyone:)

My son left today from Houston...very bittersweet. Like many of you, I'm more worried about myself than I am about him, it'll be a huge adjustment to our everyday lives as we know it. My son was able to call me from the airport a few hours ago, I miss him so much already. Waiting on the official "I made it" call now...

My fiance' left on the 5th from Houston too! I got a phone call last night. It was 18 seconds... Just long enough to say hi, im fine, i love you, and bye. I will def. keep you in my prayers.

My daughter left houston on 11/5 also heard from her Wednes morning at 2 a m love you mom. r son must one of the eight or so guys she said left with her. Just got the box yesterday and yes its hard but trying to keep busy. Hang in there

WOW! My son left on 10/25 - I had no idea about the wisdom teeth extraction!!!!!! I just found out that he won't be graduating until after Christmas.... very bummed..... am stalking the mailman daily for the 1st letter!

I'm right there with you lady. But mine left 10/25. He is my youngest of three. His oldest brother was there, his sister is in college and couldn't make it. It was watching his older brother breaking down that did me in too. I received the "box" last week and almost chased and hugged the Fed Ex guy..... I took everything out one by one and had my own ceremonial cry..... I felt better. I am now stalking the mailman looking for his first letter. AND I just found out that he will NOT be graduating before 12/21 by 12/28 which was a little bit of a downer. Hang in there.....we will all get through it - just like the labor right?

CAG911, my son also left November 1. Can't wait to receive The Box and The Letter. Trying to keep busy but my mind is just swirling with thoughts. I don't cry as much anymore but oh how I miss him. He is my first born and it was so hard saying goodbye. I know it will get better but just wish I knew what was going on that is the hard part. Moms are so involved with our kids and then to not know what is going on in their life drives me crazy. Hang in there. Always here to talk to. Hugs to you

My son left home today too, but won't be arriving in Great Lakes until tomorrow evening. Missing him already.
