Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I forgot to ask, how long have you all been here? We got here in July, and were here several yrs ago, too. It's funny the things that are the same that we thought would be different and the things that were different that we expected to be the same! Though it can be very easy to get "lost in the crowd" here.

Hey, I just got here a week ago, but my husband got here after bootcamp the begining of sept. I am so glad there are people on here who live here. I am getting so bored and a tad lonely.

I am not sure how long we will be here, I think its about 6 months till he is done with A School. So, what do you guys do to keep busy. I am currently looking for a job.

I've been going through stuff that we had in storage for yrs, and we've been visiting friends and family on the East coast. (Our son is in Norfolk and pcses to CA soon.)
Before, I did a lot of volunteering, and am hoping to start back up with that soon.
Have you all been to DC or up to Baltimore? There's a lot of cool and free stuff there (in the summer, they even do free concerts and outdoor shows).
If you're into history, while you're here you should go up to Annapolis and check out the church on base there - in the basement you can see John Paul Jones' crypt.
OH - and if you like ice cream, you HAVE to try Brewster's! It's in Glenn Burnie and is truly some of the best ice cream in the world! The scoops are huge, and they have different flavors every day (plus some that they always have), and if you can't decide on a flavor, you can order one scoop and ask for it to be half and half between 2. It's SO GOOD!
If any of you all have kids, I know of a play group here too that's supposed to be good. -
